Thanks for hosting a great GTG, Jess! Wish we could have stayed longer. It was great to see everyone. DH says "They're all just like you. Talkative, creative, resourceful and fun". What a nice compliment!
Funny story on the way home, f/u to DH 'regressing' with helping out at home since the baby came. I tell him on the way that I could really use some more help around the house and maybe he could think of a way to help so I won't have to nag. Well...on the way back, he came up with the perfect plan. He says "I know. I can help you by planning which dessert you'll bake next". (I always have something baked in the house). He was completely serious. Like that's going to take a lot off my plate. I just laughed. And am still laughing. He just doesn't get it... Might as well find the humor in it! I love him.
Re: thanks jess!
great to know that you no longer have to plan dessert! that will be a huge help
Maybe YH should hang out with MH more! MH is doing the dishes (round 3 tonight) as I type-- we're hosting a brunch tomorrow and I have been cooking, cleaning, and setting the tables, all with his help. Granted, I had to wash a couple pans over again because he seems to think the outside and rims of the pans don't get dirty somehow, but hey-- it sure is more helpful than helping me figure out what I was baking for "dessert!"
Every time he asks me what he can do to help, I thank the stars that MH is always willing to pitch in and help me out-- sometimes even without asking!
We should have more GTGs with the husbands along-- I can tell Wayne it's his duty to plant the seeds in the ears of the husbands who aren't quite with the program yet!
THIS is exactly why I love this board!! We all come from different expertise's and yet share is so many different loves - pets, kiddos, eco-friendly, etc...LOVE it!
Now YH on the other hand...
I love this idea Daniele! I'll pay good money if your dh can get can talk some sense in my dh!
We (DH, LO and I) were there a little after noon and left around 1:30. I don't know how I missed you?! Booooo.
Maybe Wayne can be the 'Emily Post' for men.
