cleaning your bath tub

What cleaner do you use? How often do you clean it? TIA! :)

Re: cleaning your bath tub

  • I use Scrubing Bubbles and clean it every couple of weeks (we don't use the tub very often).
  • I clean once a week, usually while I'm in the shower myself!  I use whatever I have a coupon for...I'm a big coupon queen!  I find it easier to clean it once a week then letting it go for too long...takes less elbow grease!

  • I use Comet and sprinkle it in the tub, let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub with some brush. Then rinse.
  • That's a great question.  We have a shower/tub, and I find cleaning it difficult.  I've heard that Bon Ami is supposed to be really great, but I haven't purchased any yet.  I use bathroom wipes in general, but then I also scrub the bottom of it with a scrubby sponge and some Seventh Generation cleanser.  I don't want toxic chemicals in the water, or on my pets' feet, or mine.
  • Baking soda and vinegar are fantastic for cleaning all of the bathroom.   It is especially effective if someone has just gotten out of hot shower.
  • I scrub my bathtub with Dawn dishsoap & a loofa.

I use a magic eraser to get the soap scum off and then I sprinkle baking soda and spray it with vinegar to disinfect.

I could do without the baking soda (since it acts as a scrubber like the magic eraser), but hey, it works for me.

I do this same thing.  It works great and keeps the tub really white!  Plus it's cheap =)

  • I like to use 409 to clean my bathtub,(and my sink and toilet) along with a sponge, then rinse. Works really well for the hard water build up. Plus, it disinfects if you use it right. :)

  • I love baking soda. It works wonders on your hair too!

What?? This is new to me. What type of hair do you have and what benefit do you get from baking soda? That sounds incredibly harsh!! I HATE cleaning my bathtub/shower. I don't have a removable shower head so I have to use a big cup to rinse the walls. Anyone have another solution? (besides changing the shower head)
  • I use the liquid lysol (i like the smell) to clean the tub. I use Comet on the caulk.  I clean it on Mondays.

  • Kaboom when I remember (once every couple weeks) but I also use the Method Daily shower cleaner so it doesn't really get too bad.
  • I use scrubbing bubbles and a magic eraser.  Works wonders, especially if it hasn't been cleaned in a while (oops!).
