I was going to give baked goods to all our friends and extended family, but I doubt it now. I was baking ginger bars and lemon bars, recipes I got out of a cooking magazines. Well, according to the pictures they should be fairly thin. My ginger bars turned out to be more like ginger cake and the base of the lemon bars is too dry and stuck to the bottom of the pan.
I tried to redo the ginger bars today without using the blender but they still turned into cake. UGHHHHH!
DH says the ginger bars are ok, but the lemon bars are a big failure. I am now making peanut butter cookies to supplement the goodie bags. I cannot believe all this happened.
And to make matters worse I tried to work on my cross stitch and every stitch I did had to be taken out for one reason or another. I should have never gotten out of bed yesterday.
Re: Christmas Baking disaster!
Tea Time for Lulu
I'll eat your lemon bars, dry bottom or not. I love lemon bars!
But seriously, I'd be so excited to get some home made baked good for Christmas, no matter what they were.

Oh no!
Last weekend, I made toffee, but the chocolate only stuck to one side! I think it'll still taste good, so I'm still using them in my baskets. I'm getting ready to make the caramel for my salted caramel thumbprint cookies, and I'm a little nervous!
