Apparently I have a secret admirer.

Someone (no idea who) sent me an interesting email to my hotmail account.  Apparently he (or she) has the hots for me and the email ended by saying "Seriously you are the best thing about Norman."

I told the husband and he said "This person must not know you very well. He can have you."  LOL.

Re: Apparently I have a secret admirer.

  • Write back and try to get them to write more about themselves. Ooh! I've always wanted a secret admirer!
  • Are you going to write the person back?

  • Well, the email address is my hometown (which isn't Norman)2009@gmail.com.  The actual name on the account isn't someone I have heard of before and I tried facebooking and googling the person but the husband thinks they started a gmail account with a faux name.

Also, it appears that this person saw me out and about in Norman on Weds/Thurs night which kind of freaked me out.

Anyhoo, NO, I am not responding.

It's probably good that you're not entertaining it.  Part of me, however, would want to see if I could play with the person just enough to get an idea of who they were.  It's obviously someone who's known you for at least some amount of time...enough to know what town you're from and your hotmail address?

Okay, that IS kinda creepy. How the crap did they learn your hometown and your email and all that?

I agree.  Probably good not to reply, but I would want to know who it is!

  • I had a secret admirer in college too (which is hilarious considering I could barely get a date).  More than anything it just weirded me out.  I think DH is a tad weirded out by this as well - my personal email address is on my facebook page - but I agree - this person would have to know me for awhile to know where I am originally from.

I am NOT responding or entertaining it. At first I was really intrigued - I have gained a little weight, my skin looks bad - it was a nice pick me up for my less than stellar self esteem right now. But other than that - no thank you.

  • The whole secret admirer thing was cool...until the stalker came out. That's a liiiiiiiittle creepy. Nice self-esteem boost, but definitely not something that should be dragged out. Good call.
