I thought I did. We did H's side's Christmas last night and I always tell MIL that I want nice mascara (usually Dior Show or Lancome), and nice shampoo/conditioner (Pureology) and a cute top or something along those lines.
This was the first year where I was surprised--she got me a gift card to my favorite home decor store! I was very excited about it...it's just not her norm to do this. She also bought me a dining room chair...apparently they're all in and sitting at the store waiting for me for Christmas. The owner accidentally told me they had all shipped whenever I came in last week...oops. ![]()
I know my parents got me Ugg boots because my sister got some when they went to England to see her a couple of weeks ago...but that's all I know so far.
Do you know anything you're getting for sure?
Re: Do you know what you're getting for Christmas this year?
I know I'm getting a LOT of clothes from my parents, and I know about one specific pair of boots I'm getting.
From DH, I know I'm getting something from Ulta. What though, I have no idea.
Grandma is getting us a check that is supposed to go towards our kitchen backsplash we want to install.
From DH's Mom, we're getting stuff from Lowe's, though a gift card will likely be involved in that...
So I guess no, I don't totally know what I'm getting.
(by the way, I saw that braided rubber bracelet at BC Clark yesterday. LOVE it.)

The gift exchange with some of my family happened yesterday. H had no idea what he was getting, because he never tells anyone what to get him. I knew some of mine (like a sweater, and a calendar) but was pleasantly surprised with many things. I love the surprise and knowing that people care enough to figure it out on their own. I gave some ideas, but most of those weren't given and I'm actually glad.
I have no idea what I or H are getting for secret Santa with my big family gathering, and I have no idea what his parents got us, except I know his parents are getting him some tools.
The only things I know I got are the clothes and shoes that I picked out myself on Black Friday with my mom. But I think she's gotten me other things too. She's been asking for months if I would like this or that, and if DH would like certain things. No idea what she has actually purchased though. She always gives too much though- especially now that I'm married, it seems kind of crazy to still be having Christmas like I'm a kid. Not complaining though because I REEALLY needed new clothes. haha
I have no clue what I'm getting from anyone else though. I over-heard DH on the phone with his parents and I guess they asked what I had on my list. He said, "She likes crafty things and stuff that is personalized." Uh..... Nice try honey. A. I don't like crafty stuff. I like antiques of my choosing. And B. I purchased a sign with our last name and "Est. 2010" on it... But I think having anything else with our last name or initial would just be obnoxious. lol
DH and I had a $100 budget for our gifts to each other. I got him as many BluRay DVDs that I could within the budget because he's getting a bunch of sports gear from my mom. He went shopping for my present yesterday all day, then locked himself in the back bedroom to wrap them for like 2 hours. He proceeded to place 10, count them 10, wrapped gifts under the tree. Not quite sure what to expect with that. haha A bunch of $10 gifts???
I'm just excited that Christmas is right around the corner. I can't wait to see my family! EEee!!!
I usually have a good idea what my big present is from my mom, but this year I have no idea! It's driving me nuts. I know she got us a new set of high thread count sheets, but that is about it.
I'm stumped on what H got me as well. I asked for a simple band or "love knot" ring to wear while I'm at work since I don't wear my big ring so I think he got me one. I have a feeling it's going to be a lot nicer than what I asked for though. I think he got me a camera bag off etsy too.
Thanks ginger
I love it too!! I actually took DH to try it on at BC Clark, and he really liked it. My mom and I went the next day and bought it. He said it was actually really masculine. Apparently John Hardy makes a leather braided bracelet, but our jeweler said that the rubber ones would last much longer because he's seen the leather ones go to crap pretty quickly.
He said they've sold a ton of the bracelets...on their third shipment of them. I'm not surprised--we got the last 8.5mm one in the store! My grandma is going to give it to H.
My mom said she was getting DH a northface jacket and I had told her that would work for me too, but now I'm not sure if that's what she got me. My sister said my parents got us something really good so now I'm thinking mom's plans changed and I have no idea what she got us!
I also have no clue what my sister got me--I love surprises!
Sidenote--for the first time in 5 years, I *think* DH may be surprised by one of his gifts I got him
I *think* I am getting a new curling iron and electric kettle from my parents because that's what I told them I would like when they asked for ideas. I think they are also getting DH and me either pjs or sweats.
From DH, I'm getting the Hunger Games trilogy, the Fantastic Mr. Fox DVD,and some sweaters (which I actually bought and told him were his gifts to me, lol).
Our mutual gift for each other is the Apple TV.
We did our office gift exchange last week and I got some new earbuds with cupcakes on them, some framed drawings from my secretary's kids, a big stack of post-its (I love post-its), a gift certificate to restaurant.com, and a monogrammed coffee mug and Starbucks gift card.
DH and I only buy each other an ornament that represents something we did that year, so I imagine he's getting me a "new house" type ornament.
I strongly suspect that my parents are getting one of us an iPad, one of us a Kindle, a gift card to Lowes, some restaurant gift cards, Christmas pajamas (from Santa), shoes for both of us (tennis shoes for DH, pumps for me), scratch off lottery tickets, and a few surprises. We're big on buying off "the list" in my family, and they've been asking me "for advice" on the ipad and Kindle for the last few months....I also may or may not have been gently shaking the gifts under my parents' tree for the last 3 days.
My parents got me a CHI blow dryer and will give me money.
C's grandparents and my grandma gave us money.
FIL and his wige gave me money so I went and spent some of it on a pair of UGG moccasins.
C hasn't gotten me anything yet and since we couldn't find what he wanted over the weekend I think we will be making a trip OKC on Christmas Eve where we will get both of our gifts (thinking mine will be a new COACH purse and his will come from 4 wheel parts in Moore). I think we are starting a new tradition of going on Christmas Eve and getting our gifts for each other or that has been his tradition since this will be the 2nd year in a row we have been shopping for MY gift on Christmas Eve which is nice because I get to pick it out and get what I want.
I have no clue what I am getting from my MIL or grandparents. We play dirty Santa at 4 of the Christmas' we go to so we never know what we will end up with there. We have so far ended up with a picture frame collage, a hot chocolate mug with about 5 little bags of different hot chocolates, Phase 10 card game and a set of hot sauces which will probably go to my dad.
For the first time in YEARS, I have no idea what I'm getting from anyone. The funny thing is, I had my Christmas present from my sister in my hands yesterday [it was all in an Ann Taylor bag], but I didn't even look in it - so that gift's a surprise, too.
I know my parents got me kitchen stuff, but I'm not sure what all I'll be getting from them besides a new blender. And H was supposed to get my gift this weekend and ship it - I didn't ask for much this year and have no idea what I'll be getting, so Christmas will be fun. We get to open presents on Christmas Eve since my sister has to work Christmas Day [Thunder game], so I'm really excited about that.
I have NO idea. I haven't given DH any ideas yet, but he said he already has 3 ideas. I don't know what they could be though.
My mom said she's just going to give us cash this year, which is okay with us!
My grandma usually just gives us all cash too.
That's all I know so far!

I know I'm getting a watch from DH since I picked it out and was there when he paid for it. We don't usually surprise eachother. Although he did get me a surprise this year. I'm kind of excited to open it.
I don't know yet what I'm getting from the inlaws. We went over to their house last night and there was a mountain of present under their tree (mostly for the grandkids I'm sure). I did ask her for an ebleskiver from William Sonoma. Really hoping I get that.
I think my mom is getting a hoodie and pants from VS. That's what I told her I wanted. I even sent her the link to the color and size.
I pretty much know everything I'm getting.
From my parents I'm getting 2 book shelves to go with our entertainment center. She has mentioned that she got me a couple other small things - don't know what though.
My sister and H got me cook books. Exactly what I wanted. H and I usually don't get each other much - we just get stuff for our house.
My dad got us a king sized bed - we picked it out Saturday.
I don't know what the IL's are getting though. They usually get me little crafty knick knacks things that I don't really like.
I'm a little scared by suggestion my H has thrown out to people.
H's parents said they went outside the box on our gifts.
From H, I'm sure I am getting an OU hoodie. I'm positive.
We usually buy a bigger gift for the both of us as well. This year, we are getting a DSLR.
