8am rush hour question...

I have an important interview tomorrow morning in Maplewood, and my route options are 394E toward St. Paul, or to go a little out of the way and loop around to 694 to head into St.Paul/Maplewood.  I'll be coming from the NW metro and the interview is at 9am.  Mapquest says 33-36 min.

Help!?  Which route is worse? I plan on giving myself at least an hour, maybe more.

    My guess is 694 won't be as nuts as everyone trying to get downtown.  That said, there is no traffic FROM downtown mpls, on highway 36, to Maplewood in the AM.

    Yeah I'm going to take the 694 route and just leave super early to be safe.

    I take 694 to 35E in the mornings and it usually isn't too bad.  It can get a bit congested between central and around the snelling exit/Lexington ave. but after that it is completely clear.  Usually it takes me about 15-20 minutes at the most between my exit in BP and 35E. I am guessing you will be taking 694 to 61?  Give yourself an hour and if you get there early get coffee or do something to relax before the interview.  Good luck!  I can't wait to hear how everything goes!

    Yeah that's the way I'm going today.  IF I get to go back there, I'll probably just ask the people in HR what the best route is.  I hate having 3 to chose from and not knowing the metro area well.  Thank you and I'll keep you posted!

    SO glad I took 694!  The traffic was already backed up on 494S alone, I can't imagine how bad 394E would have been.  I flew there in about exactly the amount of time mapquest predicted.  Interview went really well- I hope to hear back this week!
