only we can't finish decorating it 'cause we don't have enough lights! This one's bigger than last years, and we need more. So we can't hang the ornaments 'til the lights are done.
Re: We got our tree tonight
We had all red lights but every year my neighbors kept suggesting we were a seasonal whore house. So this year we put up blue. Now I am getting crap for blue lights. I can't win!
I think lights are the worst part. Why can't they breed trees to come pre-lit and ready to plug in?!?!
Funny story, I thought my aunt's live tree was fake and asked where she got it-- she said Lowe's, which perpetuated my thinking it was fake...then I asked her if it was pre-lit and she looked at me like I was nuts!

It's done and so pretty! I wish I could get photos that really would do it justice, but I didn't have time to really play with my camera and see what I could do, so this is it for now... first, E insists it's tradition to get a tree that's too tall for the ceiling...
So he hacked it down...
Before today, it was all white lights, with silver & blue balls & a couple other "us" ornaments, but today we got blue lights. Thankfully, we both like the mostly monochromatic look...
I'm not sure why the blue lights glowed in the camera so much more, but this is without flash, and didn't matter whether the lights were on or off. Weird. Anyway, some of our other ornaments, besides the color-themed ones...
For our first Christmas together a couple years ago, I found the menorah ornament for me & this fish for him (scuba diving & reef tanks)...
A friend gave me this pretty blown glass one...
And I won this silver crocheted one...
We got a set of these cute little animals last year, and the pine cone is actually made from fima clay... the artist was in a booth next to us at the Glen Rock street fair where we sold soap & I face painted...
And while there are more other interesting ornaments (like the Santa riding an alligator from Louisiana), these two are a photo from our honeymoon (at the Cliffs of Moher) and an ornament we chose while in New Orleans.
I love our tree!
