Advice on medical insurance co

Hi ladies,

I have been going through infertility treatments. My insurance has a limited separate pool for this treatment.
I have a serious situation going on as I got two contradicting info from them. My doctor's office also called and the same thing happened. My doctor was going to order medicine and wanted to know if it comes out of Infertility pool or regular insurance. One rep said it comes out of the infertility pool and two had said it comes out of regular insurance. So the doctor's office over-ordered medicine in advance. Unfortunately, the meds came out of infertility pool and half of the fund is gone.  The extra meds are useless as there is not enough funds left for treatments/procedures. The doctor's office claims that had they known the meds will be covered under infertility pool, they wouldn't over-ordered.

I think the doctor shouldn't have ordered so much meds regardless but the insurance co should have given correct info.
WWYD? or nothing can be done and I have to take it and pay out of pocket?

TIA!
WR

  • ooh man...I'm very sorry to hear you are going through all this. I don't know if it's possible at all, but couldn't the return the over ordered meds? Or am I being silly? I don't know how ins. co's work with those kind of things, but best of luck with everything.
