My kitchen...what do you think?

Do you think a white subway tile-type backsplash would look good? I still have to add cabinet hardware adn the window trim (and maybe a thing above the window so it doesnt looks so out of place w/ the light there. I just looks boring to me...

Re: My kitchen...what do you think?

  • I think white would look nice and clean, but you could also do something more colorful since the cabinets and countertops are pretty neutral.

Either way, your kitchen looks great!

  • I think that your kitchen looks great!  And, I think that I can't wait to have a kitchen like that!  Haha

I agree that you could do white, but since there are so many neutrals you  could include a color and still be perfectly fine!  If you do change it, show us pics!

  • I also think I would have a colored tile as the back splash. It looks nice now with all the white, but I think that a complimentary color tile would look great!
  • I'm hooked on home renovation shows, and they always say never put color on permanent things, like backsplash and countertops.  With that said, I do love color, and there are some really nice selections out there right now. Just be cautious, you don't want anything that will turn off future buyers or might be dated, fast.

Although, if this if your "forever" house, do what you want! :)

  • what about a white tile with a few white tiles with a small colored detail on it here and there if you don't want to do all color.

  • First, I love your kitchen! It looks great.  I think the white tile would look nice in there.  I also wouldn't put in a colored back splash because once you have it you are stuck with that color.  You could always add color with painting, curtains, a fun rug, or accessories if that's what you wanted. They would be much easier to change out if you wanted to change your color scheme later.

  • I think a colored backsplash or white would look great. If you do a color it would go great if it was reminiscent of your countertops. If you prefer the white and may want to add just a touch of color you could always add something like this maybe??? It's not too overboard but adds a little something extra.

Either way Im sure it will look wonderful, your kitchen is beautiful!!

  • I think you could definitely do the white tiles though I agree with the other ladies that you could get away with a little color. What about some neutral tones class tiles....like this picture? Still neutral but just a little hint of color without being overwhelming.

  • yea when I watch home reno shows and they use these kind of tiles, I always love the way they look. They're simple yet add a touch of color/pazzaz. I couldn't tell you how they compare in price to the white subway tiles though.....but just another option to look into!

ETA: I think the coloring in the second photo (of the actual tiles) would look awesome in your kitchen. Sorta ties everything together, IMO.
