Re: PG/Mom Check-In

  • My EDD is 8/9.  I'm starting to get daily nausea but nothing a couple tums won't remedy.  I still get the occasional RLP as well with sudden movements.

    My EDD is 8/9.

I feel the need to point out that that's my b-day :) Although I know babies are hardly ever born on their EDD.

  • Mason and Brooke are 8 months!!  holy cow, where does the time go??  they aren't crawling yet, but are rolling machines.  that is their way to get from point A to point B.  they are eating more and more adult food and stare us down every time we eat!  they are sleeping (and have been for months) for a solid 12-13 hours a night!  paper is their fave thing to play with so xmas wrapping paper will be a hit...forget the toys!

it was just about a year ago that we found out we were having one little boy and girl.  best xmas present I had ever had!  now, having my babies here with us on xmas takes the cake!

hope all the pregnant moms are doing well!!

I could have written this.  Except, I only had one and Declinn is 8.5 months.  She isn't quite crawling yet, but rolls around a lot.  I'm starting to get her up on her feet more and more.  Declinn had her first "finger" foods last night.  She ate some bannanas but only off the spoon.  I am so looking forward to Christmas this year and feel so blessed to have my LO in my life!

  • Our countdown has reached the single digits!  I can't tell you how excited I am.  We had our 30 week appointment last week, and I FINALLY gained weight.  8 pounds in one month to be exact.  My Midwife was thrilled since I hadn't gained anything until now.  Baby is head down and in "the perfect position" and everything else was great.

I've been having awful back and hip pain.  It seems like the last week or two it's really kicked in.  I've also been a complete hormonal wreck.  I've been pretty good up until now, but I feel like I've had more breakdowns this weekend than in the past 8 months.

  • I think I can finally differentiate between hiccups and kicks now. The kicks are getting so much stronger and sometimes I swear I feel her rolling around in there. Sometimes certain areas of my belly get hard, and I am convinced I felt an arm or a leg one day! :) I'm getting really excited to meet our LO. Only 10 more weeks!

We got our nursery furniture yesterday but still have to make room for it in the actual nursery. Another project for another day. It was a long process to rent a truck, pick up the furniture, take it to the house, return the truck, and clean up the never ending cardboard and styrofoam mess.

I am really suffering at work these days. I honestly don't know how I'm going to make it 10 more weeks. I cry pretty much every day after work or at work because I am in so much pain. My back is killing me. I have a dr appt on Wednesday and I am really hoping he can offer some advice or something.  I know he will write me a note saying I can't work, but then I will have to take my FMLA now and have no time at home with the baby. I might be able to do medical leave, but that doesn't guarantee your job. My unit has invested thousands of dollars to train e so I am sure my job is fine, but my boss is very unsupportive and I know she will give me a hard time. I feel so helpless. I don't know what to do. Every time I think about it, it makes me cry. I have preexisting back problems and I figured at some point pregnancy would exacerbate them. I was hoping it would happen a little later though. I feel like a number (or, really, a nursing license) at my job and they just don't care about me. The people that make the assignments are apparently on crack and love to give me the 300 lb sick patients or the hellacious, demanding patients. The other night I barely even sat down and was there until 9am. I had 2 really sick pts. The charge nurse was no help. My coworkers helped, but the have their own patients to take care of and there's really only so much that people can help you. Ugh, I am so frustrated right now.

  • I am almost 33 weeks...hard to believe! I am feeling good..just tired and humongous but not health problems or any concerns with the babies. I will probably go to at least 38 weeks. I know that is a GOOD thing, but I cannot imagine how uncomfortable I will be over a month from now. I just cannot wait for the babies to be here!

Yes that is a very good thing!!  I'm always so impressed with twin mama's that make it that far along!  But I totally hear you about how uncomfortable you will be.  I was ginormous and I only went to 32 weeks.  I can't imagine how large and in charge I would of been had I made it to 38 weeks!!  Eek!

Jen, I'm so sorry to hear what a rough time you are having at work and that you have such an unsupportive boss. I really hope your doctor can give you some kind help with your back. I'd hate to see you lose time with your little one once she is here because you have to quit working a good while before she comes. I hope you get some kind of relief. I'm such a wuss this time around and have been sitting more at work (I have a stand on my feet all day sort of job). I can't even imagine going through what you do at work- and with prexisting back problems- with such little support.
