Work party drinking...

I have had a pretty strict no drinking policy at work functions since I had a few too many at a staff Christmas party in 1998.  A group of friends and I had been drinking back at my house before leaving for the party and then at the party, most of the employees were drinking in the bathroom (it was at the movie theater we worked at).  That was during my ridiculous yound drunk days and things happened that made me NOT do this once I had a more professional job.

Fast forward to Friday night.  I successfully had 2 drinks at a work function and behaved myself! lol   But, a male co-worker did something that made me a bit uncomfortable.  We were having a conversation and he said something jokingly and reached out and tickled my stomach.  A minute later he did it again.  It was a sort of tickling/feeling up your abs type of thing.  I've known him for over 10 years, he's married and has a newborn.  He knows my husband.  Seriously, when is it acceptable to tickle co-workers?

Anyone else have any interesting alcohol fueled work fun to share?

Re: Work party drinking...

  • I personally wouldn't find that to be appropriate especially since you both had some drinks already. Also if you felt uncomfortable that should be a red flag. Not to mention you are both married.

  • I know!  And my husband was at the party.  After the second time, I made an excuse to walk away.
