What are you all doing for the new Hs? We can't decide whether or not we should exchange Christmas gifts this year (nothing like procrastination, huh?) I'm so sick of spending on money, and we've gotten so many new things in the last two months, that I'd rather not. But I think H is a little disappointed by that. FWIW, I don't want him to buy me anything new either.
So... are you exchanging? If so, what are you getting him?
Re: Christmas Presents?
We're actually going to use all of the giftcards we received for our wedding to "buy" ourselves gifts off our registries. There won't be an element of surprise since we're going to buy everything ourselves, but at least there will be things to open on Christmas morning.
DH's birthday is 1/11, so for that he's getting a subscription to GQ magazine, a wall and car charger for his iPod, some cologne, and new pajama pants, all things he has requested.
We are but I set a $100 limit. We used a lot of our gift cards to buy xmas gifts for everyone else this year since we were a little strapped. Mine ONLY wears black tshirts 99% of the time so I bought him a pile of new ones. And a pair of tennis shoes. Nothing too exciting. But he'll like that it's not housewares.
I mentioned last night that we should figure out a little tradition for just us. I want this year to be special somehow - not sure how that's going to work out timing-wise since we're running around everywhere else.
We bought our Christmas gifts for each other before the wedding and our registries have already been completed. H's birthday was a week ago and I got him Fallout: New Vegas and a slicer. For Christmas he is getting a robe, wallet, boardgame, kitchen shears, nakiri knife, and a C++ book. Mainly stuff he needs. I understand not wanting gifts though - I just told my mom I wanted cash because we have gotten so much new stuff lately I can't think of anything that I want.
I think I am getting H an automatic car starter. This winter is pretty cold so far and it would be nice to have one.
I am pretty sure he is getting me a professional camera. I mentioned that I would like one since no one in my family has one nicer than a Sony digital. It would be fun to be able to capture memories for everyone. Especially since my sister is about to pop out #2!
DX: PCOS/Recurrent losses/MTHFR mutation (compound hetero)
5 hysteroscopies/2 surgical
3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
We cashed in our credit card points for best buy gift cards and bought ourselves a digital camera with them to take on honeymoon in March. Nothing like a free Christmas present!
I also got him a keyboard for his computer. He wanted some kind of computer gaming keyboard so that's what I got him.
We thought about "skipping" Christmas for each other, but we decided to do it since it's our first as husband and wife. Although there is nothing that I want. I told him to pick something on the registry that wasn't bought, but he thinks that's lame.
But we did buy each other trail running shoes for our honeymoon and I bought him a gift card towards a watch he has had his eye on and a lot of video games. Oops.
I might go out today and get him a pair pj pants and running pants.
Married 11/6/10
We're not exchanging gifts either. DH got new snowmobiling bibs and boots, as well as a new bowling ball within the past two weeks (why he couldn't wait till Christmas, I have no idea). So, he's counting those as his gifts from me. I'm getting a Nook tomorrow, which will be my Christmas gift.
I still might get him a little something, just because I like wrapping presents and seeing people open them.
