Afraid DH's Christmas present is going to be a big fat fail

So, I got him a few DVDs that he wanted... And clothes (he needs clothes!). But I'm afraid that I might have got him the wrong sizes. He's sorta between sizes and now I'm thinking I may have got the tops too small and the pants too large (gar!). I don't know that any of the clothes I got him will work!  I got them online but now I don't really have time to return/re-buy them. :(  I might just give it to him and  we can do the return/exchange together.

So disappointing. I feel like a fat fail. :(  I hope he's not disappointed on Christmas morning.

(In my defense - He's lost a lot of weight and I can't keep track of where he's at and what size I should be buying that he can fit into... Going from a XXXL to a M-L is hard on this gal's brain).

  • Don't be so hard on yourself! It's really not that big a deal and I'm sure your DH will understand. Yay for all the weight loss!
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • I'm sure he will understand. Its the thought that counts, right?

  • I think he will be happy with it anyways. I'm sure the weight loss is a Xmas present in and of itself. Good job for the both of you. I need to hire you to get this mommy tummy off of me. Too bad you aren't closer.
  • hey, i had a stomping my feet on the sidewalk temper tantrum last year when drew blithely informed me maybe he didn't want a kindle after i'd been saving up for one for months, and not only did he get said kindle, we even had a lovely christmas!  you've got a lot more to go to be a big, fat fail.  :-)

  • Yeah, I'm going through the same problem. Drew was an XL until recently and we run into the same thing, it's hard to know if a L or M will fit. And he still needs lots of new clothes, too. I hope the clothes work out. I'm sure DH will understand, too. We girls are too hard on ourselves with gifts usually.
  • I'm sure he'll understand and the way I see it is, it's the style that matters - if he really likes what you got him but it's too small or big you can always return for a different size. If you get him something that he absolutely hates, then it will be a big fat fail!
