$700 for a swimsuit...too much?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

DH and I got into a play fight about this today. I found this GORGEOUS suit in Vogue and I want it SO BAD.  We have a pool - I will wear it all the time during the summers...for crying out loud, I have had some of my swimsuits for over 10 years so its not like I would wear this thing one season then throw it out.

Anyway.

He thinks I have lost my mind.

I guess I see his point.

Re: $700 for a swimsuit...too much?

  • $700 is a crazy amount for a swimming suit and I can see why you H thinks you lost your mind.

Maybe you should post a pic and I may have a diffent perspective of the suit. Smile

  • Yes, you have lost your mind! :-)
  • My first thought was "dear God, I hope she's kidding" Stick out tongue.
  • It is a ridiculous amount for a swim suit... for me. But, if you have the cash and you love it, then why not?!
  • Reading the title, I said "$700... He** yeah that's too much!" Haha. However, I know what you mean about having some swimsuits forever.. and if you have the money...and you think you can't live without it..  I don't think it's terrible.. But I bet you could find someting similar for $200 (or less!)

  • Eden, I can't find it anywhere online. It is from Louis Vuitton's Cruise 2011 collection and it won't be in stores until mid-January (yes, I called and asked).  It is a one piece, very retro - lower cut in the front (kind of a halter) but the bottoms have full coverage and it is striped in green and pink. Marc Jacobs did a fabulous job with this collection and if I could convince the husband to eat sandwiches for every meal during the month of January (and February cough cough), I would have two dresses, the swimsuit and a bag from the collection.  Alas.  He claims not saving and eating sandwiches to buy stuff like that means we "can't afford it."  I call it cash flow mgmt.

    He sucks.

Here are some of my favorite looks from the collection (the swimsuit is the same stripe as the top below):

And be still my heart - oh my - the skirt, the bag, the shoes - sigggghhhhhhh.....

    And this dress.....ohhhhh....

I am SO GLAD LV is bad to girlie and not all weird!!!

    Sigh. Thanks for entertaining me.

  • Ooh, I like those shoes a lot. I didn't even know LV made clothes, ha! That pink dress is really cute, too.
