Briarwood Montessori/ Indicanoe?

I know I spoke with Lori (and if you have any comments you want to add you can always send me a message) but I was wondering if anyone in the Southern Maine area knew anything of Briarwood Montessori, it's in Lyman. I want to enroll Caroline into Montessori school (in a year or so) and DH told me that his co-worker sends his kids there. He's all about the place and keeps asking me if we should enroll her etc.  This from the guy who ignored me when I brought the topic up a long time ago.

So yeah, anyone have any insight or info on other ones? TIA!

  • A girl that was a few years older than me in high school is a teacher there and a bunch of my friends take their kids there. Beside being a little pricey, I have only heard great things!

  • Both my mom and sister worked there when it first opened.  My sister was there longer, they left for different reasons.  I do know they liked all the teachers and thought it was a good school.  But I will ask them about it some more and message you on FB.

  • I almost took a job there before I became a nanny, I needed more pay at the time with wedding planning and all so I declined their offer. I liked the building and the fact they wanted me to attend montessori training. So I could tell they wanted their teachers to be able to teach the proper montessori way. The name wasn't just a label.

That being said, I know of a few people, friends of friends, who take their kids there and they have given it great reviews.

That's great info. We like Cocoons here in Kennebunk but since I'm a big believer in the Montessori method I'd prefer going this route. Knowing that they aren't just using the name is good, because there are a few out there that do that. I don't need Caroline to be a genius, I just want her ot thrive and love learning!
