Are the streets bad out there?

I am heading out around 11, and I am hoping the roads are not too icy.

Re: Are the streets bad out there?

  • From what I could tell, the back roads that aren't super cleared are a little slick but the highways and heavily travelled roads were fine.

I live south of Boston though - not sure how much snow everyone else got. We only got about 1/2 inch or so.

  • I'll caveat this by saying that I take the bus into work so I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to the roads (plus the windows were fogged up like two teenagers making out at Lookout Point), but I got into work right on time and there didn't seem to be any delays or slow downs.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • I thought the back roads in my town would be slippery but they weren't. I didn't have any trouble. Any moderate-high traffic road is to the pavement. People are still driving on the slow side so allow a little extra time.

  • our town seemed fine...I took Rt 4 all the way into Billerica.

But my friend from work who takes Rt 2 in here everyday (from Leominster) has been on the road over an hour already and is still on Rt 2 because of accidents.

225 was awful last night.   It took me forever to get home.   Hey BTW did you see/read about the skating rink???

A friend of mine who works in Boston had a 3 hour commute home last night. I drove by 95 on my way home before 5pm and the on ramp to 95N from Rt2 was already backed up like a mile. I felt badly for those people.

It is over behind town hall.  Some townspeople just decided to build it, and started looking for funding.  I read they ended up basically spending their own cash because local businesses were not donating.  When I drove by on Monday it was up, but not filled with water.  I am really hoping H and I can get over there this winter to skate.
