I'm still trying to figure out the point thing, too.
One thing that creeps me out is that you can see how many times a thread has been viewed vs replied. And I miss my text box.

Yeap. When you start a thread, you get like 30 points. For every person who responds, you get a certain number, then you get more if people quote your responses. You also get points for posting responses yourself.
I don't know if the points get you anything besides bragging rights, but basically the more you participate the more points you get.
I like how it does this ^ too. The quotes within quotes, so you don't have to go back.
I'm surprised The Nest can handle all of these points calculations, considering The Knot can barely keep the boards running some days.

Question - how do you guys get the little boxes in your signature like 'Pet Parent', etc?
I feel like most of the boards I've looked at so far are super catty. There was some of that on TK, to be sure, but it seems ramped up here. Our anniversary board is great though!!! I'm hoping to find some good advice and conversation on TN, so I'm not giving up yet.
