Do you dracula sneeze?

I just learned this term, and since learning it, I've been Dracula Sneezing rather than normal sneezing into my hands.

For sanitary reasons, I guess it makes sense, however spit in my elbow (and lord knows what else) is a little more permanent than in my hands that I can wash.

Re: Do you dracula sneeze?

  • Maybe it's the no coffee I have in me, but do you mean when you lift your arm/elbow into your nose when you sneeze instead of your hand? I do that...less germs (ish?).

  • i never heard that term before, but yes, i cough/sneeze into my elbow now. that what the doctors' offices tell you to do. you're right. it's still gross. i guess sneezing into a tissue is the best option... but i don't always have a tissue. and i use hand sanitizer every.single.time i cough/sneeze/blow my nose/etc. ocd much? lol

    Yes.

I just heard the term yesterday actually, which peaked my interest. I guess the old school dracula used to cover the majority of his face with his elbow?

  • I'd never heard the term but it makes sense in light of the dracula pose, 'cause yeah, he did do that. I started doing that because it's the recommended way now to avoid spreading germs. I avoid hand sanitizer like the plague (ironically) and am annoyed no end that public bathrooms all use antibacterial cleansers.
  • I don't think I dracula sneeze. I'm not sure what I do with my hands and arms when I sneeze because I'm more focused on trying not to pee my pants.

  • I have never heard the term, but I have sneezed like that for many years. Part of being in the health care business- it's preached pretty heavily.

That's all still happening? How is your recovery going? Any end in sight?

  • I sneeze into my hands, but then immediately use a hand sanitizer.  I have proof too-you should see the condition of my dry hands.

My muscles are in good shape now, but I seem to have lost that reflex that helps you not pee when you sneeze. When I intentionally flex my muscles, I'm fine, but it definitely takes concentration.
