To Do List before Christmas?

Anyone else feel like they have SO MUCH STUFF to do before the holiday this weekend?? Here is my abbreviated list:

I need to take care of a whole bunch of paper work for job applications. (I haven't changed my name on my undergrad transcript, etc.) And I need to start putting together packets for applications.

My house needs cleaned. Baaaaad. Plus, my whole immediate family (like 10 people) is coming to our house on Monday for our Christmas. (We all to G-ma's on Christmas day with all the aunts/uncles/cousins.) But I haven't been able to do a thorough cleaning in way too long.

I need to go talk to our insurance agent about changing some aspects of our coverage on our renters insurance.

I have a ton of random errands/things to take care of. (Bank run, post office, etc.)

I'm just ready for it to be the weekend so I can relax and not have to worry about anything.

Re: To Do List before Christmas?

  • I have to bake TONS more cookies (gifts for our extended family). Then i have to package them up all pretty to send with my mom to my family's christmas eve party.

I have to finish shopping for ziggy and my little sister (should not take too long). Then i have to wrap EVERYTHING. But it's not THAT much so i should be fine :)

Other than that, just keep the bill paying up to date lol

  • Finishing shopping in a few minutes... cleaning when I get home.  Hopefully wrapping this evening.  Also, I really really really really really hope our Christmas cards are waiting on the porch by the time I get home in 2 or 3 hours.  I would like to address them today so I can send them out before going in to work tomorrow.

I work Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night.  So anything that doesn't get done today has to wait until Christmas Eve.  Yuck.

Looks like the baking and hoilday food prep is going to have to wait until Christmas Eve.

  • I still have:

Buy one more gift for DH and the gift for my dad, wrap these gifts.

Wrap my best friend's and the in-law's gifts.

    Wrap my mom's birthday gifts.

Bake probably 6 dozen more cookies and prepare them to go to each of our parent's houses for Christmas.

Get the new tires put on my car.  It's snowing like crazy today, but of course, my tires go on tomorrow.

Laundry, laundry, and more laundry.  Ugh.  I hate laundry Stick out tongue

  • I work today, wednesday, thursday and friday. which is better than what it previously was. I would have worked friday, sat and sun. We have everything wrapped. But I'm not looking forward to the 24 and christmas morning.

I'm coming home from work and setting everything up for my son. I have to make the morning muffins as well. That way i'm not in the kitchen cooking while they're opening gifts. My son does not wait for food when he gets up. I have to put the presents under the tree and set up the train set we bought. Then wake up at 6am.

I'm making prime rib, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, crescent rolls and stuffing. Rice krispie treats, cookies. Plus it's just us three. What am I thinking?

  • * Figure out a place to have our company's annual Christmas Lunch on Wednesday, make reservations, prepare employee bonuses, gifts, and cards

    *  Follow up with people about outstanding photography contacts that need to be sent back to me

    * Make a TON of cookies.  I'm just doing small gifts for people this year with a bag of cookies for each.

    * Find an x-mas gift for my dad... still NO IDEA. Ugh.

  • I think I cheated a bit....I had to have most my major Christmas stuff done before last Friday, since I'm not very mobile this week. There are a few things left to do:

    *Wrap everything
*get DH to figure out what to get his sister, and buy it!
*make Christmas cookies (with help from DH)
*go grocery shopping for everything for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas dinner (DH will do most of this, since I'm not good at being up on my crutches for a long time)
*get a present for our friends and their baby and drop it off tomorrow when we see them
*help DH clean the house before his parents come visit on Sunday

Thats all i can think of right now, though I am sure there is more...

  • Finish Xmas shopping and finish some wrapping

I am in pretty good shape except for DH's gifts.

  • I don't think mine is too bad and I am not feeling stressed over this!

*Last minute shopping for a few gifts.

*Clean house for family coming over Christmas Eve.

*Food shop for appetizers for Christmas Eve. (We are keeping it simple, drinks and snacks).

*Continue working with DH to get car issues taken care of since we were rear-ended on Sunday.

    *Wrap the last few gifts.

  • Today: Last day of work! Woo hoo! Go to the library. Drop off keys at a friends house. Clean out my car and get ready to drive for miles and miles. Pack. Drive for miles and miles making a stop along the way to pick up some more Christmas presents.

Rest of the week: Wrap presents. Take my mom grocery shopping and do her laundry (and some of my own). Bake an insane amount of cookies. Make soem more marshmallows. Make some more homemade Irish Cream (Bailey's doesn't even compare).  Drop of a present at one of my dad's best friends houses (I bought him the special whiskey my dad bought him every year).  Go see Harry Potter with one of my nieces, then take her to Melt Bar & Grilled (since it's been on a couple of food network shows, it's way too crazy popular! and I am really hoping the owner is there so we get seated faster than 2+ hours- he knows my brother).  Go to Mama Santa's with the rest of the nieces and nephews. Finish shopping (moving, having a cold, unpacking, and work has kind of gotten in the way of that!).

Basically I have a TON to do this week!  Luckily it will all be fun :)
