Every time I ask Seth about something he says, "Well, what do the Nest girls say?"
Abe has what I thought was baby acne. Very light red bumps on his cheeks only. They appear to get more red when he is hot (skin to skin mostly). And today the skin on his cheeks looks really dry. Also, his earlobes are flaking with dry skin and behind his ears too.
Thoughts of what it could be and what to do to relieve it?
Re: More Baby Questions.
James had such pretty clear skin for a few months and then we all of a sudden went through a period of bumpy less than pristine skin for a whole bunch of months. It was just normal baby acne and I don't think we did a whole lot for it. I'm sure some lotion or aquaphor would help with the dry skin, but if he isn't itching it too much with those sharp baby nails (ouch!) then you shouldn't need to get particularly stressed about it.
That being said, I hated seeing his skin not smooth and sweet. Between that, his hair loss, and his gross cradle cap that took FOREVER for us to get out, he was kind of gross for a period there- LOL!
Ridley went through a very awkward stage too! So not pretty!
It could also be a little bit of eczema on his face; Owen's had eczema flare-ups like that when he was an infant. Keeping it moisturized is all you can do, and Aquaphor is a good gentle way to do it on his face. Keep in mind that it won't help the acne part.
The flaking ears are part of cradle cap -- which is also essentially dry skin. For cradle cap, we used olive oil.
Liam is dealing with nasty cradle cap right now....ugh
