so our neighbors got a new puppy...
And he started barking at 4:30 this morning. We couldn't actually hear him, but our dogs could & they would start barking whenever the puppy started barking. We live in a condo so we share walls and I think they're keeping the puppy in the kitchen, which shares a wall with our kitchen, where we also keep our dogs at night. Basically the dogs had a bark-a-thon from 4:30 until we got up at 6. Soooo annoying. Now we're both really tired and grouchy.
Please please please let that puppy not bark tonight! My neighbor called to apologize. That's seriously the only reason I knew it was because of their dog, DH & I couldn't hear the dog at all because it was raining and beating down at our window all night/morning.
Actually between the rain & wind creating noises, when the dogs started barking like crazy I woke up in a panic because I thought someone must be in the house.

This is how are dogs came to sleep in our bed with us
When our first dog was a puppy he cried and cried during the night and when DH was at school and work (we didn't live together then). Once DH got a letter written in crayon on his door saying that the dog had been barking all night after a night out with his friends. The only way he wouldn't cry or bark is if he was in bed with DH.
Hopefully your neighbor's puppy doesn't bark tonight!
