Christmas Week! What do you have left?
Christmas is peeking around the corner. What do you have left to do?
Re: Christmas Week! What do you have left?
I have been way ahead of my normal Christmas schedule.
-1 present to get. I was surprised by a friend with a gift so now I need to go get one for her!
-2 more presents to wrap. I did have them all wrapped, but my mom got my grandma the exact same necklace as I did, so I went out and found something else yesterday
-A good cleaning. Even though we don't have anyone coming over to our place for the holidays, I like to have my place very neat so that we don't have to worry about that as we are bringing things in and out to each place we go.
-Make a Christmas card for DH. We usually just buy them, but this year I am making one.
We still have lots to do even though we got a bunch done this weekend.
1. Still need to wrap everything we bought this weekend and buy something for the grandparents/greatgrandparents.
2. Finish grocery shopping for Christmas dinner.
3. A really good cleaning. We are having abouut 16 people over for Christmas dinner.
-I have to clean the kitchen and vaccum the carpets.
-Wrap all presents, ha, slacked it there. I have to also go to my moms and wrap my dads stuff with her.
-Get ingredients for my Red Velvet cake but I won't bake it until Christmas Eve.
-Go to the liquor store.....
I think that's about all.
Christmas came beyond fast this year, I cannot believe it's less than a week! I'm usually SOOOO much farther ahead.
- I still have to buy for my grandparents, my aunt/uncle/cousins (group gift), and my aunt. I can never think of anything for any of them.

- I still have to shop for my brother and sister too. My brother has a list of video games and TV seasons he wants, so I can just pick something from there. And my sister just wants clothes. So that should be easy.
- I still have a couple little things I need to get DH.
- Buy bows and tags and wrap almost everything.
- Send out our Christmas cards!! Agh, I know
- Plan and shop for my Christmas Eve dinner (luckily it's just DH and I, but I try to make it nice).
I'm stressed just writing that out...

Mainly, grocery shop. ... like a mad woman! And I have food and desserts to make, Thank you, DH for volunteering me to make a cheesecake and two pecan pies.
I only have a few gifts to wraps, and I won't need those until New Year's when we go up to my parents.
I'm actually doing okay (I think)...
- make "Kang" cookies - these are the Ritz crackers with the peanut butter in between, dipped in chocolate. It's a family name for the cookies, which is another story in itself, but these are tradition to have at Christmas.
- DH is making roasted/spiced nuts. I guess that's what you would call them... they're the ones covered in sugar and cinamon... delish.
- Figure out a way to "wrap" 2 baskets. I know they have those celophane bag things, but those are still clear. I don't know what we're going to do. Maybe just keep them hidden until it's time and then there's just nothing to unwrap? I don't know.
- I have to go to Mentone, AL to get my stepmother some pottery for christmas
-I have to go to the antique stores tomorrow to try and find an old antique Kerr jar (I make soap pump containers out of old jars) My aunt wants one to give as a gift to someone
-I have to wrap my husbands big tv I bought him!!
-Pig out on chocolates
That's it for me!! I love being a teacher, I have 3 weeks off from work!
My Blog!
I have to get some Almond Champagne for my aunts and uncles for their Xmas gift.
Clean the house
Do the Christmas grocery shopping... thinking about hitting up Costco for a ham, some pinwheels and a pumpkin pie (they have amazing pies and they are huge!)
Finish packing tomorrow for our early Wed. Morning flight.
Party!!!
Tonight - make a couple batches of sugar or gingerbread cookie batter
Wednesday - baking night after work (hopefully having some girlfriends pop in to help/hang out) for a cookie exchange and youth group Christmas party.
Thursday - figure out a gift for extended family and make it (usually do something food... I'm thinking candied walnuts or a hazelnut salad dressing), find a gift for DH's stepmom (she hasn't been in the family very long and we don't know her at all... it's hard)
Friday - prep a roasted potato dish for Christmas dinner, make dessert for Christmas Eve (although I might just take the cookies from my exchange) and wrap the last of the gifts
Saturday - relax and enjoy DH and my family and celebrate!
