AW: My ridiculous husband

Never would I imagine to be writing a post like this...

DH and I did our Christmas last night.  We had a $100 budget for gifts.  I think maybe 2 people on this board have ever met my H, but for the record, I was surprised he decided on spending even that much.  Also, pertinent info- he has only ever purchased two gifts for me... My engagement ring, and he surprised me with a bottle of my favorite wine a month ago.  That's it.  For birthdays we always go out to dinner, last year we didn't do Christmas presents because we just bought a house, and he got me a card as a wedding gift.

I got him 5 BluRay DVDs for $60 (I thought that was pretty good) and then he said he would rather spend that extra $40 at the pro store when we go to the Chiefs game on the 2nd.  SO... I wrote out 100 reasons why I love him and made cute little coupons for backrubs, movie nights, dinners, etc.  He opened his presents first and read his list-- and teared up a bit-- and he thanked me like crazy.

Then it was my turn.  I don't know if anyone saw this on an earlier post, but when DH came home from shopping for me, he put 10 wrapped presents under the tree.  I really curious how he pulled off 10 gifts for $100.  Ok, so here's what he got me in order:

- a box of tea light candles from Pier One

- 2 iron wall sconces with tea light holders from Pier One (we are planning to add paint for an accent wall in our living room and he got candles in colors to compliment it... on his own.)

- an iron art piece from Pier One to go over our bed

- four iron picture frames with L-O-V-E for our wedding pictures at Pier One

- 2 pairs of Levis- fit perfectly, super cute

- a pair of new Puma's (with a note that said they were to work out in only- we are getting a gym membership in January... I haven't purchased a new pair of tennis shoes in probably 8 years-- I always take my little sister's hand-me-downs because she has a thing for tennis shoes)

At this point I start bawling uncontrollably because A. It is ridiculously clear that he went WAY over budget and B. all of his gifts we incredibly thoughtful and he's never done anything like this......  I was like, who is this man....

- a pair of new Nike's (with a note that said they were just to wear out- not to work in or work out in... they are black, Jordan-looking shoes)

- a cute pair of brown flats from Journey's

And... This was an 11th present that he just HAD to get on his way home from work yesterday... A CUTE pair of black Nine West pumps- because he really wanted to get me a nice pair of heels.

Indifferent

I honestly can't believe that he did all that for me...  Needless to say, I bawled for a good 20 minutes.  haha  :)  It's just nice to feel appreciated and loved, especially during the holidays.  Love him!
