So apparently...something's paying off

at my job. i complain all the time about my workload and hours and all that junk to you ladies. But this past week i was appointed "Change Leader" in my team (no extra money, but lets me work with higher-ups and kinda lead my team through this whole outsourcing effort to make it work in our favor), and i got 3 emails today from really high people in my department (like boss's boss's boss's boss level!) saying how helpful i have been in doing my job and how i've gone beyond what is expected of me.

as much as i despise this place sometimes...this is kinda exciting. lol now if only if would reflect in my paycheck!!!!! (doubtful...oh well)

  • that's great! If the super higher-ups are noticing what a great job you are doing I'm sure you'll get a raise when they can afford it. It sucks with the economy right now, but I bet when it starts to turn around you're paycheck will too!

  • That is great news Kim!! I totally agree with Lisa - I think that if the higher ups are recognizing your efforts and appreciate your work, that when the time comes to evalutate for any raise or bonus, you will reap the benefits!!

Receiving positive feedback is always nice!

  • That's great!  It is always great to be noticed and told that you are doing a good job.  I hope this does pay off for you down the line!

  • Congrats!  Maybe the new responsibilities will make your job not seem so awful since you'll be focusing on some different things now.  Even though you're not getting paid for the additional work (yet), I think down the road a bit you can probably approach them and ask for a raise and say you've increased your responsibilities for the team, are doing a different kind of work, managing people, etc.  It puts you in a good position to ease your way into a better paycheck.
