Re: Tuesday Randoms

  • I'm not sure where I want soup from for lunch: Zoup! or Russ'....decisions, decisions
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I could use a drink.

I'm trying to coordinate something with my extended family, and it's not going well.  Think: herding cats.

  • My sister's divorce (trial?  hearing?  whatever) started this morning.  I was with her for over 3 hours.  I had to leave to go to work, so I left before it was over (if it even gets over with today.) She is getting screwed.  Sad

  • I'm sorry for the family troubles ladies.  I hope everything ends up okay. :-(

Toby is in surgery and I'm at work anxiously awaiting the vet's phone call.  Andy dropped him off this morning and then emailed me.  To give this note some context, Toby "knocks" when he wants in and out - he goes to the door and hits it with his paw.  From Andy: "He knew what was up and he kept knocking at the door of the waiting room to get back outside.  Then he face melted me as he was led back.  I was so sad that I forgot your phone number.  I had to look in my phone to double check."

  • Molly, sorry to hear about your sister's divorce proceedings.  Is she getting screwed in child custody, or money, or something else?  Hope things turn out okay for her.

Juli, that note from Andy is so sad!  I feel awful for your little family.  Hope he heals perfectly this time.  *hugs*

Shockingly, they came to an agreement on custody.  She is getting screwed in the assets department.  He got the house (not a big deal since they are majorly underwater on it...err so that is not an asset) and almost everything in it.  <-- that includes their $6,000 bed.  (Indifferent to people that spend $6k on their beds...haha.)   He is fighting everything and she is giving in to everything just to get this over with.

He has mental issues, is manipulative and doesn't want to be divorced, so he is doing everything in his power to drag this out as long as possible and make my sister suffer in any way he can make her suffer.  He fought a $1,500 debt for at least an hour, and I know that my sister's lawyer is $250/hr, not sure how much his is, but I'm assuming that fighting over that stupid debt (which they ended up having to get a judge involved over and ended up splitting it which is what my sister wanted all along) cost them a total of more than $500.  Just so stupid and trivial.

  • Today has been like a repeated punch in the face for me.

Went to the dermatologist because my regular doctor was concerned about a spot on my foot...dermatologist used the "C" word with me, as in "could be pre-cancerous" causing me to freak out...and then he proceeded to cut it off of me RIGHT THERE which was traumatic...and now my foot is killing me because I had no idea that could happen and wore tighter shoes which are rubbing on the wound...and plus I'm all worried about what the biopsy may or may not say.

Then I got to work and found out two of my favorite residents (unrelated to each other) had died.

    Bah humbug. Crying

This doesn't seem to be a good day for many of us here...sorry things are crummy all around.

  • I think we can officially saw that this day Blows!! Is anyone having a good day. Today's mail came with 3 bills. Dislike, I don't need the bills, I need the money to come in the mail so I can pay the bills. MY computer ( aka the server ) is fighting with me and I'm not sure when DH will have time to looks at it not wil be be pleased to know it is fighting with me. I think I'm going to have to sell my iPad and upgrade to a MBP, which slightly saddens me b/c the iPad has been very helpful in the kitchen.

That's a terrible day!  Sorry, Chymes.  Did the dermatologist say how long it would take for the biopsy results to come back?

I have a terrible paranoia about the "c" word, as it relates to skin, in part because I previously used Elidel for an extended period before it was linked to cancer.  And on a related note, I actually have a dermatologist appointment next week.

I am so sorry.  That is so sad.  Sad

Keep us updated on the biopsy results.

  • Yike - You guys have had some rough days today. I hope things get better.
  • ((hugs)) to everyone.

Chymes - *fingers crossed* everything comes back a-okay.  Keep us posted.

Interesting about the Elidel - my dermatologist just prescribed that to me today for a different issue I have. And the paranoia worsens...

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. They said I should get a call in a week to 10 days, which of course the majority of that time we'll be out of town...blerg. It will probably be nothing, but you just never know.

Maybe call and ask if there's another option?  That stuff makes me nervous, now that the FDA warnings have come out (conveniently after it was approved and on the market for several years -- grrrr...).  But I tend to be a bit of hypochondriac, so I'm probably not the best judge.
