Annoying day

Ok so my morning started off with a Secret Santa exchange with the Social Studies department. The email said a $20 limit. I bought my person a Barnes and Noble gift card for $20. The guy who had me gave me 12 Lindt truffles! Now I do like them a lot, but it was not $20! I know I'm being petty but still, if you can't afford it don't sign up. Then the payroll person is telling me she paid me for 10.5 hours of tutoring which she didn't. I called to ask about it and she said she can't do it over the phone, there are too many sheets. It's your job lady!! Then there was a fire on my street earlier today. Now I cant get in touch with one of the kids I tutor. I'm reading to go home!!

Re: Annoying day

  • I would be annoyed by the truffles too I think, yes they are yummy but that is sort of out of left field (unless you gave wish lists and that was on there). Maybe it was a cute little gift set but he wanted some too.

I hope your day gets better.

  • Whoah 12 truffles?  That sux.

    Hopefully things will get better.

  • Happened to me once, I got a mug from the dollar store. $20 dollar limit. Since then I haven't did a secret santa with that group anymore.

  • Doesn't that make you so mad? You feel jipped, that's for sure. Our annual secret santa exchange at work always has a $25 limit. Last year, a friend of mine received a calendar from Walmart with the $5 sticker still on it and it was still in the freaking Walmart bag!! Talk about cheap, not to mention that Walmart is right across the street from the restaurant where we had our Christmas party...last minute, much?

The year before my secret santa got me a bag of Starbucks coffee, some pens and such for school, some candy, and a tabloid. I thought it was random, but it was  appreciated. I thanked the guy for it and he actually admitted that he didn't spend a dime on it. He said the school stuff had been sitting in his desk for months as he'd bought it for himself but never used it and though I would, the candy was out of a bowl from his house, the coffee had been in his freezer for about three months, and the tabloid was one his mom had just finished reading and was ging to throw away. Seriously?!
