Frustrating lights!

So I moved offices today, the top floor of my building was being rehabed and is now complete, so we moved up there so that they can now start rehabing the downstairs.  Well to be energy efficient they put in lights that are motion sensitive, and turn out after 5 minutes of no movement.  The motion sensor cant see me  Tongue Tied

One of my office mates is in the direct line of the sensor, so while he was here all was good.  But then he left.  My other office mate was able to thrown his arms in the air to get the lights to turn back on, but then he left.  Now I have to actually get up out of my chair and walk to the other side of my desk every 5 minutes to get the lights to turn back on! Argh, this is going to get really old, really fast.  I am all for energy efficiency, but this is stupid!

Oh well, one more hour, than I am off for a week and a half.  I can deal with it when I get back to work.

Re: Frustrating lights!

  • Omg i was just dancing around my office trying to get my automatic light to come back on. It stays on for more than 5 minutes, but still very annoying. Good luck Tongue Tied
  • Haha, maybe I should start dancing around every time, that could make it more fun.  And yeah, it is every 5 minutes, we timed it.
  • How ridiculous that they wouldn't at least figure they need a sensor near every desk so that doesn't happen! Sounds like they're not thinking lf employee efficiency, bc you'll be wasting so much time trying to keep the lights on! I'm glad for you that you get to leave soon for a nice break.

  • It is extremely distracting.  They had good intentions, but it was definitely not well thought out.
  • no you just need something like a giant bouncy ball or a hockey stick or something you can just wave/throw straight up!  OR!  position a trash barrell under the sensor and claim you are working on your free throw!  i'm sure you can make this more entertaining!

    lol good luck!
