Yay! She is adorable! We absolutely adore our little pit bull pup.
I hope it all works out for you. I bet Chloe will love having a playmate around.

Andrea - who do you have for your homeowner's insurance? The foster family told us that many insurance companies will void your homeowners insurance if they find out you have a pit bull. I emailed my agent (American Family) last night and he got back to me just now.. and he said that they do not allow coverage if you have a pit bull, akita, rott, wolf hybrid or chow. Hrmmm.
So now we have to decide if we want her badly enough to switch homeowners insurance, and of course it means we have to find a homeowners policy that will allow her. Stupid.

We currently have AAA insurance.
My agent told us that we should be okay. If anything does come up, it would be during a renewal - but that hasn't happened yet.
I asked this question specificially a few months ago and I saved the responses (they're on my personal computer, though). It seemed that there were at least a few companies that didn't have any breed restrictions.

She is so cute!!!! Good luck! We love our two pitties. They have been perfect and absolutely love our cats.
When we bought our house we specifically picked insurance that would allow us to have pitbulls. We currently have Owner's Insurance. We haven't had any problems. They don't specify which dogs you can/can't have. So far, we've been happy with them, but we haven't had any problems where we've had to deal with them.
ETA: We also told our agent to find us insurance that did not have BSL. We told him we would not even consider any insurance that did not allow us to have a pitbull, or two. There are quite a few companies out there that don't have BSL. I am confident you can find something that will work!

Yes, if Dawn and others who have insurance agent suggestions could send that info to me, that would be great. PM on here, or email: anitasmithson at gmail
We don't want to explore all options, and thankfully the rescue understands (and told us to double check the insurance before committing!) and is working with us on our timetable.

Good luck with the new pooch - I hope everything goes splendidly!
As for insurance ... here's my somewhat limited knowledge:
AAA: this is what we had for several years. They have no restrictions, in fact they didn't even ask us if we had pets when we started our policy with them. We had awful problems with customer service and ended up switching because of our frustrations, but I know other people who have AAA and haven't had issues. Their rates are very competitive.
State Farm: will insure a home with any dog with no breed restrictions as long as there's no history of attacks or bites.
Liberty Mutual: this is who we're with now. They do have a list of breeds on their "high risk" list, which includes our rott mix. We were able to get a policy with them anyway because we meet additional requirements they have to insure "high risk" breeds, which meant that we have a fenced yard and are not located within 1 mile of a school or day care center. If these people actually came to meet our "scary rott" they would realize that these restrictions are silly because he never leaves our yard - he wouldn't even if the fence gate was open - and he's awesome with kids. In any case, there is still a limit of having only one dog from the "high risk" breed list, but our agent told us that they would waive that limit after we're insured with them for one full year with no incidents. So, as of February when we hit that one-year mark, we can have all the "high risk" dogs we want.
