Not 24 hours after tap dancing on clouds and being crazy excited to share the news with you all, and sharing the u/s photo with our parents, MIL puts this message up on FB:
"So excited that it's almost Christmas- youngest son and wife are coming on Thursday and they're pregnant!!!"
Are you mother-stomping serious?! Did I not just tell you Monday night that we're not letting the news out until after we tell family over the holidays? WTF?! I called her ASAP and asked her to take it down, which she did, but it had already been up for 40 minutes, and we have a bunch of the same friends. Crimany. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one else saw it, but I'm not holding my breath. Way to steal our thunder, MIL.

Re: Effing Mother In Law
That stinks. I would have throat punch someone as well if they would have done that. I mean if she really felt the need to post it, she totally should have asked you first if it was ok. However I would have thought she would have gotten the hint when you told her you were waiting until AFTER the holidays. DUH!
Enjoy telling everyone the big news at Christmas. I did it last year, and it was SO much fun. Enjoy!
Wench. At least she took it down. I have a few friends who outed me on FB as well. Not sure how many people saw it, but only one person actually asked me about it.
At this point I am fine if people know....my work knows, family and friends we see on a regular basis all know, but we are not letting the general facebook world know until after we find out the sex.

OK First off "jumps up and down and screams "YAY, you're pregnant!" " Congrats! I'm so happy for you!
Secondly, WTF? I hate when people do this. When asked, everyone will say that the parents should share the news, it's important etc. and then once they get that little secret passed on to them they blow it and share news that isn't theirs to share. I hate it! I'm so glad that my MIL wasn't on FB when we told them!
I believe that in my cases, when people log onto to FB they log out of their brains.
Sorry
I hate this.
We were outed on fb by my mom's friend. Ironically, half our family didn't even notice, hahaha. But, when they got our Xmas card and were like, uhm your pregnant!?! I was like, uh yeah .... guess you didn't see it on facebook
Isn't that the truth!!
Mollie, that sucks about your MIL's post and I'm glad she took it down - hopefully no one saw it or at least if they did, they'll have the good sense to keep quiet till YOU announce it! Good call on not pinata kicking her though
UGH, that is so annoying!!! Doesn't she realize that it's YOUR news to tell!!!! That is when FB sucks, I agree with Erin, so many people lose their brain on there!
Hoping not many people notice and that you and Kyle can share the news yourselves!! Oh, and good luck around MIL.... I would have to use all my strength not to throat punch her, hahaha!!
I disabled my FB page until just last week (20+ weeks!) for this reason. However, that wouldn't have stopped someone else from posting the news like your MIL did.
We also didn't tell either of our families until 14 weeks, and denied any rumors before then. When DH told his mom, she asked how long she had to keep it to herself, and he asked for a few more days - but unfortunately, since we work, and she doesn't, she still told many of his family members before we got a chance to.
It stinks that she even put that up. How ignorant! I'm hoping that no one will out you before you're ready from here on out. This is such important news, and news YOU should be able to tell who and WHEN you're ready.
