Over the weekend, my husband Felix and I went camping with some family and friends. Well, we woke up to constant rain on Saturday, and eventually some of us decided to go see Tron Legacy since we couldn't go hiking.
While in the concession line, my brother turned around with a beet red face and tears in his eyes. He could barely speak as he tried to tell us why he was laughing so hard. Apparently, one of the little girls in front of us saw my dad (who has a gut and grey beard and was wearing a dark red shirt) and thought he was Santa! Naturally, once we realized what was going on we started cracking up too. My dad, who is great with kids, played along and, when the little girl actually said "Hi, Santa" to him, he gave out a hearty "Ho, ho ho!" What he didn't see afterward was that, before she disappeared around the corner, she turned around with the sweetest look of pleasure and waved good-bye to him.
It was the cutest case of mistaken identity I've ever seen, and who knew that Santa likes to go camping and watch movies too?! ;-)
