Rachel re: FFC

My freshman year of college I went a year without a cut/trim b/c I was poor as hell. Sophomore year I got two trims, total.

I then went a year w/o a cut/trim my junior year of college b/c I was too lazy.

I started getting regular trims my senior year. Then I moved, and I went almost a year w/o a cut/trim because I was too lazy/cheap to find a stylist in Baltimore. I waited until we moved back so I could go to my old lady, the only one who has ever NOT royally effed up my hair.

Basically...I feel you on that. No shame.

Re: Rachel re: FFC

  • I stopped getting my hair cut for a few years on college when I got fed up with hairdressers not listening to me and taking off several inches instead of doing a 1/4" trim. I wanted to grow my hair!
  • I was a 2 cuts or trims per year type. Sometimes just a little trim; sometimes I'd get several inches cut off. About 2 years ago, I started doing every 3 months - until this summer. I had it really short (for me) before Nate was born, and I really liked it. But, I haven't had the motivation to keep up with it. I don't brush, blow dry, or straighten/curl my hair, so I don't have split ends (well, I used to straighten it twice a week, but it's such a time commitment, I haven't done it since before we got married). My hair lady probably thinks I've found someone else.

So, let's say I call my hair lady and ask for an appointment after the first of the year. Then I have to decide whether I want just a trim and keep growing my hair out (which DH would love) or if I want to go shorter again... That decision alone could make me put off calling indefinitely.
