Re: Christmas Poll!
What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Christmas morning after we open our presents we ALWAYS listen to Christmas Carols and have memosas and croissants for breakfast before the craziness begins and family arrives
Do you believe in Santa Claus? I believe in his spirit
If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? - when I was 11 I heard my parents rustling around downstairs on Christmas Eve and my dad said "are you ready to get the presents out?" I think I already knew but that was just the nail in the coffin.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? - don't know if I actually received a "worst" gift, but the craziest one was two years ago. My eccentric Aunt gave me Halloween decorations "because I was spending my money on practical things and probably wouldn't have bought Halloween stuff yet."
What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received? - One year I got the American Girl doll (Kirsten) that I was really, really wanting. She was waiting for me under the tree that morning and I was the happiest girl in the world! My sister got a gigantic stuffed teddy bear that year that was bigger than her and I combined!
December of 2008 I got the amazing early Christmas present of a fiance
It wasn't the "official" proposal but DH told me he had put the ring I picked out on layaway so I knew it was coming soon.
What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
putting up the tree and all the decorations right after Thanksgiving, i love having the house all decorated for my birthday
Do you believe in Santa Claus?

If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why?
6, a "big kid" on the school bus ruined it for me

What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received?
i got an early christmas gift last year, it was my engagement ring (12/14). as far a gifts on christmas, i think it'll be this year - dons getting me a kitchenaid stand mixer and mom is giving us a new laptop!

What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Spending the night at my moms on Christmas Eve and waking up early to open presents. Do you believe in Santa Claus? Well, no. But I believe in his spirit and can't wait to have kids of my own and celebrate. If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? I don't really know for sure, probably 7 or 8. My brother is 4 years younger though so I kept up the "belief" for a few more years for him. What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? I don't knowWhat is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received? When I was little my parents must have had a great year money wise. We got new bikes, one of those kids 3 in 1 pool table, table tennis, air hockey games, and a ski trip to Vermont, plus some other things. That Christmas always sticks out for me but I've had a lot of great presents!

What is your favorite Christmas tradition? doing an ornament exchange at my grandmas on Christmas Eve, its always so funny to see the ugly ornaments people buy, and everyone trys to avoid the ornaments my dad buys.
Do you believe in Santa Claus? obviously not
If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? I don't remember exactly but I remember I was pretty young maybe 5 or 6 because my older brother told me he wasn't real when we were fighting.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? i'm sure there has been worse but last year my dad got me this water fountain thing he clearly picked up at the drug store the day before. HORRBLE!
What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received? my Louis Vuitton bag my mom bought me last year. LOVE IT!!!
What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Opening gift Christmas Eve and making tamales with my dad.
Do you believe in Santa Claus? If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? No, never believed.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? The snake print leather jacket in my post below...LOL.
What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received? This Christmas Eve Richard and I will celebrate our 12 year dating anniversary. We first started dating in May 98 and broke up. Then my friend went over to his friend's house for Christmas Eve and Richard was there. We talked and got back together that day. I then had to rush to my grandma's house since they were waiting on me and I had all our Christmas gifts.
Do you believe in Santa Claus? No
If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? I started to think it wasn't very plausible around 4. I asked a lot of questions but didn't think my mom would lie to me, so I was just 'uncertain' until I finally cornered her and got her to tell me the truth when I was 6 or 7. I kept the secret from my sister for a while though.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? See the post below that deb started about presents you hated
What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received? Before Jeff and I started dating, he bought me a poster of Puss in Boots from Shrek 2 (we'd watched the movie together, and I made Puss my computer background) and mailed it to my house in WA. He got the address wrong so it was sent back to him, but someone had stolen the poster out of the tube. He searched all over for the same poster and when he finally gave it to me and told me the story, I was so touched that he went to all of the trouble. It's a silly gift, but it meant a lot - and since we were in the 'just friends' stage, it gave me hope that he had feelings for me.
What is your favorite Christmas tradition? I had a messed up childhood. Wasn't close with my mom and step dad, so I don't really have any from my time before I was with DH. Ours is opening our stockings on Christmas eve. We come home from his aunts and it's the only time that just the two of us are together for a while. (always have family stuff beforehand and usually a day or two after).
Do you believe in Santa Claus? No If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? No but i believe in his spirit and I love being around kids that still believe. It's so cute to see how excited they get.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? The flu. I went home one year for x-mas (which I never did, see the answer to the first question) and I got the flu, really really bad. I mean, I was passed out on the bathroom floor for the 2 days I was there. It sucked.
What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received? I remember growing up, my aunt got me my first cabbage patch doll and got me one for the next 4 years after. I LOVED them!
What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Putting out my grandma's Santa Claus collection. She had a ton of collectible Santas, and we would always put them out when we put up the tree. I inherited them, so I have continued this tradition. This year we bought a new one: a Mrs. Claus with a tray full of just-baked Christmas cookies.
Do you believe in Santa Claus? I like to believe in the idea and the goodness of Santa. Just because he isn't a real person doesn't mean that we can't believe in the Christmas spirit and the idea of Santa Claus.
If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? I was 7. My mom showed me an outfit she had bought me for Christmas but hadn't wrapped yet. On Christmas morning, I opened it but it was in a box marked from Santa. There wasn't a duplicate. I was devastated.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? That outfit. It was ugly, and it killed Santa Claus!
What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received? My grandma took me to Chicago for Christmas one year. It was so much fun!!

What is your favorite Christmas tradition? hanging out with my only cousins & aunt/uncle on my dad's side of the family - we have dinner and exchange gifts. My sister and I have been doing this tradition since my parents divorced 27 years ago or so.
Do you believe in Santa Claus? In the spirit yes, but I can't wait for James and I have to do the Santa thing for our future kids.
If not, how old were you when you stopped believing and why? I was a late bloomer on this...probably 8 or 9, I noticed that my mom and Santa had the same wrapping paper and same handwriting and gift tags.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? these waterproof socks, looked like scuba socks that my dad gave me one year.
What is the best / most memorable Christmas present you have ever received?
One year I got Sharks hockey tickets, really good seats from my mom. Last year, James gave me a cute heart shaped diamond necklace, he picked it out all by himself. I admit I wasn't keen on it at first because I don't wear jewelry, but I fell in love with it each time I wear it. He went to Macy's and put a lot of thought into the gift. Now I hardly take it off.
