Recs: Hocking Hills

Question for all of you who have been to Hocking Hills (or another similar place) where do you recommend staying?? Do you think it is better to go as a couple or with friends??

Thank you!!!

Re: Recs: Hocking Hills

  • We go every year as an extended family and stay in Lake Hope State Park.  They have lots of cabins and a lodge (Laurel Lodge) that sleeps 12+.  We stay in the Lodge. It has lots of bedrooms, two men's and two women's bathrooms, a full industrial kitchen, and a common area.

Personally, I think it would be a lot of fun to go with a group of friends that large.  In the past, I have had friends come up that weekend and we go 4-wheeling, hiking, and some fun around the campfire. The only thing about the Lodge is that it is really hard to get during certain times of the year, especially Fall.

  • I went there a few years ago during the late Spring/early Summer.  I think I just found a little one bedroom cabin online and booked it.  It was expensive, but it was secluded, had a fireplace and a hot tub and a full kitchen.  Def very nice!
