How $*%$ed am I?

Yesterday my BFFs DH borrowed my DHs truck. When he returned the truck he came inside to say Hi. He stayed for a bit, said hi to the boys and the dog. I had him hold Will while I took Fred to the potty.

I got a call this morning that he came down with the stomach bug last night...both ways! :(

How doomed do you think my household is now?

Re: How $*%$ed am I?

  • I think you'll probably be ok.  Stomach bugs are usually transmitted by eating contaminated things.  So if your friend hadn't washed his hands properly, then touched a cookie that your son ate, I might be worried.  But just touching their skin shouldn't be a big deal.
  • Really? It's not an air born type of germ??? Ooo...that would be good! Ok that would make me happy. I am freaking bc he was holding him...but if it isn't air born than yeah we should be ok.
  • Nope, not usually air-borne (unless you're inhaling vomit fumes).  More info here: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/viral-gastroenteritis/DS00085/DSECTION=causes

But yeah usually it has to enter your digestive system orally. The person-to-person transmission they're talking about is more about not washing hands properly, etc.

  • Not safe. :(

Just talked to my pedi's office...stomach bug is rampant right now & is air born! :(

So lots of stay healthy vibes for us please. It would be such a bummer to have it over Christmas.

  • Oh man girl.  Fingers crossed for you!!
  • Oh no!!  Must be a different type of bug.  Ugh.  Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
  • Oh no!!  I just got over the same bug last week.  It was AWFUL.   Luckily, the kids and DH didn't come down with it.  I think it was only b/c I scrubbed the toilet and bathroom every single time I was in there.

I hope you guys don't get it!
