that's right not even DH, just H...
We got our Christmas tree 2.5 weeks ago, it is still sitting outside waiting to come inside. I have been asking him over and over to get the ladder and go up and get the decorations and tree stand in the attic. He keeps telling me, "I will" Uhhhh, pretty sure Christmas is almost here and pretty sure the tree is outside, while the decorations and stand are still in the attic. If I could still hoist myself up into the opening in the ceiling while hanging precariously from one of the roof joists with my swollen hands while standing tiptoe on the ladder I would. But right now that's probably not the best idea, you know since I am due to have a baby 4wks from tomorrow!! Grrr... do you think he'd get the message if I just bring the tree in and throw it in the middle of the living room floor? It's small... perhaps if I put it in his beloved computer chair.
Oh and to top it off, he was done with classes last Friday, and only has to work 2 shifts this week...one was on Monday, the other is tomorrow night....I won't even go into detail about all the things that need/could be done around the house...
Re: Not feeling very merry towards H...*An update*
booooo
bring the tree in and lean it in a corner, decorate with what you have - some napkins, junk mail, hair ties, his underwear...
Love this! For real, if you want me to come down tomorrow night or Friday am, I will help you decorate! You just let me know
If he's anything like my husband, just telling him you have a friend who offered to help with the tree since he hasn't done it, will help light a fire under his butt to get it done.
Do you want me to come over and bring in it for you and get the stuff down?
He can only get away from this if he somehow surprises you with the entire thing decorated at this point. I thought I had it bad doing lights and deocartin all by myself last year and I was only 4 months pregnant.
Yeah, DH is king of procrastinating, although when he finally gets his butt in gear it's amazing what he gets done.
Thanks for the offers ladies...
Is it too passive-aggressive if I just let his family/my family give him hell? I am seriously considering taking a pic of the tree outside covered in snow and labeling it as our 2010 Christmas Tree, the posting it on FB. I am friends with a lot of his family and I know this won't fly by without comment...
DO IT! or take a picture of all of us helping you decorate. I can come over tomorrow!
Your H is being an azz but I can't help laughing because it sounds a little like something that might happen in my house.
The Christmas I was pregnant I went out and bought a fake tree and set it up myself because we wouldn't have had a tree otherwise.
This year my fake tree has been assembled in the living room for three weeks (DH did help this time) but it just got decorations put on it today because I did it myself. It took DH several minutes after he got home from work today to notice that the tree was decorated. I told him now we're even for the last time I failed to notice that he had gotten a haircut.
haha, I like this idea! I can't lift but I can come and help decorate!
This. Is. Brilliant. Might I aslo suggest if you have any tampons sitting around, you add those on for a festive touch. When he sees your efforts and the look of horror takes over his face, just sweetly explain how you were forced to decorate with things that were within your reach...
What a jerkface!
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware; joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. -Henry Miller

Oh, there are so many possibilities with tampons! May I suggest this website for inspiration: http://www.tamponcrafts.com
Well, I didn't take the pic as it was dark, but I did leave a note by the computer that he read first thing this morning, it read "Please do a load of dishes in your spare time. It would be much appreciated. Thanks! P.S. The baby is due 4wks from today..."
I got home to the decorations down, the tree stand down, and the tree was brought up to the porch. On top of those things he did all the built up recycling and he did the load of dishes I requested. I just keep saying baby steps, baby steps....
Off to decorate my tree!!
