Re: 2 days left/Happy Thursday!
I'm off today but I just spent the last hour logged into my work computer doing work. Gotta love it.
I have a ton of cleaning to do and H and I need to go to the grocery store. The closest/best store is a super Walmart and I really don't want to go after Christmas since everyone will either be there returning gifts or stocking up on food for the potential snow we may get.
I think I'm going to do a little bit more baking today, but nothing spectacular. BIL was going to have something for Christmas at his beach house on Monday (I really don't know why) but since they're calling for at least snow flurries, no one wants to drive that far. We live directly in the middle of H's uncles who want to visit and BIL's beach house. So I'm impatiently waiting to see if I'm going to end up cooking a huge Christmas dinner last minute. I still have no idea when we're going to see my mom.
I can't wait until H and I have a house with guest rooms and space and I can just tell people they are showing up for whatever holiday. This last minute planning stuff makes the super organized freak inside of me want to cry.
Married / The Cookaholic Wife
As of 3PM today I'm off until the 3rd. I'm "on call" next week for any marketing work related needs, but I doubt that I'll get anything (or hope at least). I cannot wait!
J & I are officially done shopping as of last night, with some things to do/get for next weekend's NYE & family polyanna party festivities. Tonight we're wrapping and I'm going to start some baking. Tomorrow will consist of some time spent with family, and then more cooking for Christmas day!
It's a busy next few days but I'm looking forward to it.

That's a bummer about your grandfather. Even if you weren't that close, it's still difficult, especially around the holidays. My sympathies to your family.
A few small items to pick up yet,and a bunch of wrapping to do. Luckily, we close early today, so I'll have a few extra hours this afternoon to get that done. No cooking for me, happily, since we're traveling tomorrow afternoon to spend the holiday with my family. I feel like a grinch this year - I just wanna stay home with K and block out the world for a few days...hopefully the family interactions will go better than I am anticipating at this point.
Steff, what is a polyanna party?
I just have one gift left to wrap, gerrens sneakers didnt come in time, so i printed a picture of them and put them in a box...just need to wrap the box.
brought in christmas cookies as a gift for all of my coworkers today...and none of them showed up. now i have 8 bags of cookies! do you think i can freeze them until after the new year when i will see them all again?

Well, polyanna is basically a secret Santa - you randomly pull a name & get them a gift and exchange at the party. We haven't done this in a few years but I still call it that - now we do more of a White Elephant ordeal, which I didn't know wtf that was until J's family did it & he explained it to me. For that there's a bunch of gifts in a pot, everyone pulls a number & you go through in the order with 1 selecting a gift, etc. As it goes on, people can steal gifts from eachother or select a new one from the pile.. it's pretty fun.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa too. The timing is definitely awful. Hopefully you will still be able to enjoy the holidays a little.
Chris did the majority of our shopping online. A lot of them already arrived. The remainder should come today and tomorrow with the wrapping paper. I'm just waiting on that and then we're good to go!
I'm at work right now, but I don't know how long I will stay. I will attempt to incite a mutiny if they expect us all to stay here late. Mainly it's the team leader guy. All the managers left days ago. This is why I prefer working from home and not working on site for clients. *grumble*
I'm hungry and I want a hot toddy.

Sorry to hear about your grandpa. T&P for you and your family.
Christmas shopping is done. Jeremy's last present came in the mail today. It was actually supposed to be a custom wedding present and part of it had to be found and blah blah blah so it finally came and he'll get it as a christmas present now!
I'm at home, cleaning/doing laundry/playing on the nest. All Christmas presents (minus the one from today) are wrapped and ready to go.
We'll either head to my parents house when Jeremy gets off work or tomorrow. I'm hoping tonight but who knows.
Hello Everyone! I'm here until 4:30 PST. If I'm lucky I'll get to cut out half an hour early!
Tbears-sorry to hear about grandpa. I'm not close to my gpa either, but if he passed I would still be sad.
All of shopping is done, but I think I'm going to Kohls to pick something else up. I have a coupon that I want to use because it expires on Friday. I took my mom shopping last night, oh man was it a big task. Good thing is that we got to park in the handicap spaces. She had to take her walker, because most stores didn't have the motorized shopping carts but it was okay up until we got to WalMart.
So, we got to WalMart and all of the handicap spaces were taken
we finally found a parking space but had to walk quite a distance to the entrance. Then, they had no motorized carts, but we were able to find a wheel chair at the other entrance. We went back to the main entrance to see if they could hold her walker, they said yes. Right as we were having them hold her walker a young lady (late teens) is returning one of the motorized carts. She didn't look "disabled" but that's not the point, and who am I to say if she was or wasn't. I think "Great" we have a cart to use, and then someone beats me to it! So we had to do our shopping while I pushed my mom in the wheelchair with no shopping cart or basket. I was giving her things to hold when we finally went to the purse section and grabbed a large tote to throw stuff in. So that was my night.
My dad just got home from the nursing home! After being in the hospital/nursing home since 11/24 I am sure he is more than happy to be home. I should be going over there soon and I am bringing my cat for some animal interaction.
Today I am cleaning up my mess from baking cookies yesterday and then I need to start making dough for bread, dinner rolls, and coffee cake.
I am also working tonight and then possibly getting together with our friends tonight afterward which shall be interesting since we always have way too much fun together.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather tbears.
I just got finished making 11 dozen cake balls to take with us all over the place the next few days. I am whooped. But now all my cooking/baking is done, as well as shopping and wrapping. Time for festivities to start!

UPDATED 11/05/10 Lots of Wedding PICS!
UPDATED 07/28/10 My Planning Bio
I just finished my shopping today, I had to get my dads girlfriend somthing because he told me last minute she got me something. Otherwise I would have been done last week. Today H didn't have to be to work until 2:30 so we spent the morning together. He got up at 9 this morning and went and got my Christmas presents (while I slept). Then he got home and gave them to me (unwrapped) so I let him open his, I think we always wind up doing that. But he loves his gifts so I was really happy. Then we went and picked out him some boots because his were falling apart and we went to lunch. I love spending time with him just the two of us because I feel like during the holidays its always rush rush rush. Oh yea and on a side note I finally got my Christmas bonus!!! As I was complaining about the company to my boss yesterday then he tells me last night that we are getting a bonus. It was 150 less than normal but some is better than nothing.
Ha! This reminds me of our annual grad school reunion last year. One girl was helping her friend prep her wedding favors (puppy chow in bags with a stamped & embossed label, but they were calling it something after their dog's name) and none of us had heard of puppy chow. I swear, she had to explain it about 10 times as new people kept coming in to the room. She told me later that it seemed like we were all aliens, the way she had to explain it over and over, and then each person would say something like, wow, sounds weird but good.
ETA that I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. Mine was kind of a racist jerk, but it was still rough when he passed away, especially because I couldn't go to PA with my family because of finals.
I forgot the shopping! I really really wanted this jacket from Nordstrom, but couldn't justify it at $250. Just looked and it's on sale for $150, plus my mom got me this weird loungey sweater that is not sized for 4'11" me, so I can return it and put it towards the jacket.
That's probably not the kind of shopping I should be doing, but everyone else is done.
