When to give a thank you card
Two weeks ago when we had that bad snowstorm DH went and helped two neighbors snowblow their driveways. One neighbor gave us a plate of baked cookies and the other gave us some chocolates and a candle to thank DH for his help. So now do I need to give them a thank you card? I called the one neighbor and thanked them again for the cookies and of course thanked the other neighbor when she brought over the gift last night.

Re: When to give a thank you card
the rule is, you don't give a thank you for a thank you.
your voiced thanks is plenty.
I think a verbal thank you is just fine in this case. Otherwise it could be a never ending string of thank yous! Thank you for the thank you for the thank you... :-)
I love nice neighbors. DH helped snowblow our neighbor's driveway and they trudged over in the snow later on with a warm loaf of bread!!
I think you're fine with the verbal thank you, too.
I love nice neighbors as well! Our neighbor snowblowed our driveway a couple times in that last snowstorm. I could have cried I was so happy. He got a 6 pack of home brewed beer.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
