...is actually a success story!
I posted a couple of times asking for advice for setting guidelines for having my sister move in with me to help her get back on her feet. She ended up getting pregnant after a booty call with her ex (who bankrupted her). I felt guilty about enforcing the move-out date we had set once she found out she was expecting.
But I did it. She moved out 2 days before the cut-off into an affordable apartment. She is still paying off her debts and slowly saving for baby. She did NOT go back to the ex-boyfriend (and I truly believe that she wants nothing to do with him relationship-wise), but they are in contact and he is very supportive of her.
But the real shocker here is... she is no longer reliant upon anyone else financially. She hasn't even asked my mom for money-and she's been living off her handouts since high school. I think she finally found confidence and a sense of urgency in getting her life straightened out.
Thank you so much for all of your comments and support. I'm so glad to have been able to be there for her and glad that we both emerged stronger than ever. I know it very easily could've gone in the opposite direction but you all helped steer me straight.

This all sounds great! And why am I feeling like there's something odd here? She's all of a sudden able to afford to save money, have her own place, pay down debt, AND afford to live on her own POOF just like that with no help from anyone, when she's never, ever been able or willing to do that before.
What does she do for a living?
That is absolutely awesome!
I think it helps that she's no longer spending hundreds of dollars every paycheck on alcohol and eating out. The reality of being a single mother hit her hard and she's done a complete 180.
