DH and I are both sick. He came home from work early yesterday, and went straight to bed. I started to feel crummy that night. Now, he's more sick than I am, but that's not really the point of this.
When DH gets sick, he stays in bed until he feels better. Really. He doesn't get out for anything he doesn't have to. For example, I brought him a glass of water yesterday afternoon, and he was still drinking the water this afternoon.
When I get sick, I sleep more, but I can't just stay in bed. I always feel the need to do something, like laundry, or whatever.
How is it that men can just turn off their inner voice that tells him to do things? I don't get it.
(of course, DH also has the ability to not do a single useful thing on a day off, and not feel bad about it at all. the other day he had like 7 hours from when he got up until when he needed to be somewhere, and all he managed to do was take a shower, even though he told me he would do other stuff.)
Re: I don't think I will ever understand this
It's gotta be a gift. When I'm sick, I want to lie around for like, a day - then, I get restless and start cleaning, cooking...whatever needs to be done.
H, however, is the biggest baby in the world. My dad's the same way - they both just lie around and don't do a damn thing until they say they feel better. It's a little ridiculous. I don't get it. I kinda wish JJ was like that at this point in his life - he's been sick for a week, and he's more energetic now than he is normally. It's nuts.

See - at least you feel guilty. H, even when it's obvious he's feeling much better, will still lay around - and you are ALL over the place ALL the time. You deserve a break more often than you get it. H is a little lazier than that most days. :P

Men turn off their inner voice to do things even when they aren't sick.
At least the ones I know.
I think this is so true! My H never gets sick....seriously. At least he never admits it but both of us rarely get sick. However, from Friday night to Sunday night during football season, my husband "checks out". Meanwhile, I'm grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning and all of those things! He doesn't feel bad at all. He just asks what's for dinner *smh*

I seriously just laughed at this, I think, because it might be a little to close to home.
