Northern California Nesties
Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

DROID users, can you post on the nest boards?

My sister is wanting to post but she's never on an actual computer - almost always on her phone. Do you know if there's a way? She can't figure out how to do it or if there's a trick.

Re: DROID users, can you post on the nest boards?

  • Yes you can. Winterorchids clued me in on that one Smile

If you click on the HTML button in the bar above you can enter text. The only trouble is you can't "quote" anyone or create more than one paragraph in your post.

Thx! I've passed that along to her. Hopefully she can get on soon. :)

  • My directions weren't very good, I still have the detailed e-mail instructions if you're interested.

Basically, once you click on the HTML button on the message bar another screen pops up. You select the message area, type what you want, then click the "update" button which inserts your text into the original message window. Then click "post" and you're good to go.

  • It's way easier than it sounds, I just wanted to be very thorough. The key is to use the HTML link on the Reply page PAIRED WITH turning your phone vertically/upright for you to be able to see the Update button and therefore post. You can type in horizontal mode but the bottom line is if you enter the HTML editor in horizontal mode and stay there the Post button disappears. Going vertical will bring it back. You have to scroll down quite a bit to see the Update button anyway.

**Do not at any time hit the X button you see or it will get rid of all you typed! Do not go back to the HTML to try to Edit your post after you've gone back to the reply screen. It will just replace all you've written if you Update. If you accidentally wind up back in the HTML screen just click Cancel in the bottom right and your original text will remain**

It DOES seem a lot more fussy than it should be. It also seems like it might be easy to accidentally hit something and lose your post. So the key is to post carefully, nothing too terribly long, and use the Nest's edit button if need be after posting but don't try to re-update before posting.

Thx! I just emailed this to her. :)

  • Sucess! Thanks so much! As much as I love my Droid, I'm suprised it took so much work. When will they make a Nestie Board App?
