How was everyone's Christmas?
Anything awesome? Anything crazy?
I'm completely exhausted, but it was a good time! It was awesome having my parents up here. I'm SO glad I'm off work tomorrow so I can spend one more day relaxing and having some "me" time.
Oh, and I ate WAY too much. I feel like I've gained about five pounds from sugar cookies and chex mix this weekend.

Re: How was everyone's Christmas?
Christmas was fabulous. I was a little afraid that JJ wouldn't like the gifts he got, that H wouldn't get his Christmas box, and that we wouldn't get to talk to my dad. JJ loved his gifts, H got his box on Christmas morning, and Dad got to Skype in - so it was as perfect a Christmas as we could have.
I ate waaaaaaaaaaay too much, too. Freaking holidays.
It was great, thanks for asking! I got to see some California cousins and their kid. I haven't seen them in probably 3 or 4 years. Their kid I think was 3 the last time I saw him. What a difference a few years makes with youngsters. Sweet kid.
The only controversial thing was with Secret Santa. Somehow, two people got my name! And my mom didn't get drawn. She thinks it was some kind of conspiracy, because she thinks the people who made the list don't like her. I walked away with two great gifts!
I also got things that I didn't ask for, but wanted and needed, like some new jewelry (nothing fancy, just stuff for work or going out; no diamonds or anything like that) and scarves. I haven't been able to find anything I've liked hardly and somehow MIL and my mom's older cousins figured it out. It's nice to know that people care enough to get to know you and find things that they know you can use and that you will love.
After my rant on Thursday about FIL, H gave him a hard time and I got to bring a potato dish (PW's au gratin potatoes) an apple crisp, and I helped FIL in the kitchen preparing sauteed mushrooms for the steaks. He said he appreciated my help in the kitchen. I thought it was sweet of H to stand up for me, and speak to FIL in a way that they both understand: overly direct.
It actually went okay. I may discuss in another post because I do need some advice but don't want to hog this thread.
Snowful, her SO, husband, and I met at the Skirvin last night for drinks and then went to the Thunder game. We had such a blast and I, of course, drank a bit too much of the holiday spirit and now I feel like total sh!t. I saw Santa at the Thunder game, sat on his lap (he was probably a coworker of mine, good grief) and informed him Santa didn't bring me anything. His response? "Well, its probably because you act naughty when you drink too much wine."
DH and I agreed to not do gifts this year but he ended up getting me some French lotions and goodies - lotion to put on my feet (if you ever meet me, you need to ask to see my feet - they are damn soft), lotion for my face, and some lip balm. His parents gave us a $500 giftcard to Lowes so once again you all are going to be bored with home reno pics. And our best gift? Hub's grandparents got us a new storm door - oh my, it is beautiful.
My Christmas was pretty awesome. I felt like I got pretty good gifts for everyone this year so it was pretty exciting to see people open their gifts. We got my dad one of those Nascar drive experience things (he's a huge Nascar fan) where you go and they train you and you get to drive the race car on the track. He loved it so much. And we got the ILs a big framed picture of all of us on top of the mountain we climbed in Colorado. They really loved it, I think FIL almost started crying. My favorite gifts: my Toms shoes from DH (they are so comfy!) and our Shark steam mop my grandma got us!

Our Christmas was really great! Ate way too much and M got alot of new toys. I don't know where I'm going to put everything. It was really nice to see family and hang out with them.
DH's uncle made this CD slideshow for FIL and it was really great to look at old pictures of DH's side of the family. We were all cracking up at some of the pictures from when BIL and DH were kids because of the clothes they were wearing.
I also found out that I am getting another niece in May. My brother and his wife found out right before Christmas the sex of their baby so that was a great surprise. Plus some of my good friends got engaged.
I'm kind of glad it's over although my parents are coming up this week to do Christmas with us and to celebrate New Year's. I'm ready to take down the decorations and just get everything back in order.
Ours was good. Everyone came over here Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so it was a lot of work for me, and I am glad it is over, but it was fun.
I told H after everyone left that I really just don't like my dad. Isn't that horrible? He is just so disprespectful of us as parents and I finally told him that if he wasn't going to respect us he wasn't going to be welcome in our house anymore. Not the nicest thing to say on Christmas, but I couldn't take it anymore and It made me feel better
Christmas night H and I went to the Thunder game and then to a movie so it was nice to get to relax and have fun just the two of us for a bit.
We had a great Christmas! H and I exchanged gifts the morning of Christmas Eve and relaxed at home for most of the day. I loved my gifts from H. We wanted to get each other something but decided that we would not spend a lot of money. I have been wanting something to hang on the wall above our desk, but I haven't found anything I liked. H painted me something. He was afraid I would hate it but it is already hanging on the wall. He also got me Easy A.
We spent the night at my parents that night and had Christmas with them the next morning. We met at my aunt's house for lunch with a lot of my other family. Then, we went to BIL's to see H's family. I loved getting to spend time with my family and exchanging gifts. H's famly, on the other hand, wears me out. None of them are organized. We never know what's going on until the day before we get together and then when we get to the house everyone argues about when we are going to eat. It was still fun though. I love watching my nieces open their gifts. They get so excited about each one.
Christmas was fine, nothing awesome nor aggravating to report. I saved all my vacation time for the end of the year, so I got to spend a week with my parents...which was a little too much time, but it allowed me to go to the Christmas gatherings for both sides of the family on separate weekends. My dad is always a grouch about opening presents. Even when everybody else is ready, he won't let us do it until he's good and ready, which isn't for another few hours.
Now I'm at DH's parents' house for a few days. DH doesn't have as much vacation time as I do, so he got to skip seeing my parents and go straight to his on Christmas Eve (both sets of relatives live several states away from Oklahoma).
