Blizzard!

I am definitely going to get my share of snow this holiday!  We are in MA with the ILs and we have a blizzard moving through.  It's predicted we will get between 12"-20" of snow between today through tonight into tomorrow morning.  BRRR!!!  I am looking forward to going out tomorrow after it lets up to have some fun.

I was hoping we would get some snow while I was here.  Didn't expect to see this much though!  I'm so glad we weren't scheduled to go back to Tampa today/tonight.  We probably wouldn't have gotten out of Boston.

So for those in WCF who are wanting some snow, I will enjoy it for you!

Re: Blizzard!

  • As someone who lived in MA for 33 years, I have to say I'm doing a little happy dance inside that I'm not having to shovel my car out to go to work tomorrow Smile

Bundle up, go out sledding, make some snowmen and snow angels,  and then come in for some cocoa!

  • Isn't it fun? I think you guys are going to get more than us but we're getting quite the storm here, too. We've got an estimated 10 inches of snow so far, and they're saying we'll get a bunch more tonight - maybe another 8-12". Gusting winds, all airports closed, the whole bit. My H is crossing his fingers and toes they close his office tomorrow, too.

The coolest part was we had thundersnow! I totally didn't even know that existed and had to google to make sure I wasn't crazy when I started seeing lightning and thunder in the middle of a snowstorm. Very cool.

When you don't have to drive in it or shovel it, snow is really pretty fun!

How are the rest of the northern WCF girls doing, I wonder? Jen? Meag? Kendra?

  • Cozy and warm here! We live southwest of Boston which falls into the little patch on the map that is supposed to get the worst of this blizzard. They're predicting over 20 inches for us when all is said and done. There's about 8 inches out there currently and while it's just a snow storm at the moment, the blizzard conditions are supposed to start soon. (Still haven't had our thundersnow yet though, Meghan. I'm jealous!!)

So, I'm hanging with H and the kitties (not to mention some mojitos and cookies) and just enjoying the post Christmas weather!

  • We're at my parents in NJ and hunkered down today for the storm.  Right now we have over a foot of snow and it's supposed to continue tonight & end in the morning sometime.   :)

  • We only got about 2 inches.  I was a little bummed, but at least we got a little bit.

A tree came down in the back yard & we lost power for a couple minutes here & there last night, but we made it.  I'm guessing we got about a foot of snow.

I went out this morning to shovel off my car.  It took me an hour to get it out of it's parking spot.  It's sooo cold & windy out.  I'm still cold.  Yuck... I'm over the snow.

I didn't go into work, although it was still open.  They're saying they only want emergency personel on the road, so I don't think I should have to go in.

My sister & niece were supposed to fly in yesterday.  They didn't.  Then they were supposed to fly today.  They didn't.  So now their flight is scheduled for the 29th.
