Can we talk babies?
Baby fever...I haz it.
It's ridiculous, I still have 1.5 years of school left and have long-term BCP but we've found ourselves having this conversation: "well, if we did get pregnant it wouldn't be awful, I could quit school since I have a good degree and you make good money, plus we own our house..." yeah, that's not helping. Plus I kinda melt every time I see a baby picture, and I have a list of girl and boy names hanging on my cork board in the office (yeah...that bad). ARGH this cannot continue for another 2 to 3 years until we're ready.

Yea, I have baby fever pretty bad too. But what helps me is continuously telling myself "The parent I want to be is not the parent I can afford to be right now". That helps most days.....until DH comes in the room and tells me he wants to be a daddy next Christmas. AGH! Babies!

THIS. this is the problem. I was good until DH started talking about them, now it's on my mind all.the.time. During school I'm better because I have so much going on, but now that I'm on break, forgetaboutit.
I'm with you. It seems the closer I get to 30, the more I get baby fever. I'm still somewhat frightened of other people's kids, but I'm getting better!
We're planning on ttc in summer of 2012 - we want to take a trip to Ireland that summer with our other friends that are planning on ttc at the same time.
When do you guys think you'll ttc?

we're planning on ttc summer of 2012, right after we take a trip to England/Ireland/Scottland...we're plannign on being over there for a few weeks, and catch some of the Olympics in London.
Nora: wouldn't that be nuts if we were over there at the same time?
OMG not having a period would be soooo difficult for me! I would be POAS every other day! lol
DH wants to try when he gets home (March/April of 2011) while I would like to wait until Dec 2011 or Jan 2012. We will see...

That would be nuts!
I'm afraid we'll have to put our trip AND ttc off - I have a feeling we'll have a lot of weddings to go to in 2010 (including SIL's), so we may not be able to get away. I hope everyone picks 2011 instead!

if we had known of the real possibility of complications and how not so easy it really is to get KU...we would have started sooner....

We want to ttc and we've been trying but having complications all year...hopefully next year will be out year...here's to hoping!
Yeah, this is one of my fears. I don't want to start until we're ready, but I know so many people that have been struggling for years - and I don't want to put it off too long, you know?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! If you ever want to vent or share or whatever, please feel free.
I hope 2011 is your (and carcrashheart's) year! Let the rest of us live vicariously through both of you.

thansk girls.
my baby sister just told me today that she is KU (they havent been married 3 months yet, and waited for their wedding night). so she got pg on cycle 2. apparently it does come super easy for some. here's hoping that's the case for all of you.
and now, i'm going to go crawl in to a hole. as if this past weekend wasn't horrific enough, she "just couldn't wait any longer! *insert giddy here*"

And I saw you say these past few days were rough - I hope everything's ok.

heh, i knew what you meant. though, the creepy window wouldn't have been so bad, as long as it meant i got a hug!
my sister tried to hang herself friday night, so we spent the weekend in the hospital. she was in the neuro icu unconscious all weekend while the doctors kept her sedated, paralyzed and cold, in an effort to slow and rehab her brain activity and ward off further damage. as of yesterday she was awake and alert, and had her ventilator tube out, so it appears she is going to be ok (as in, no major brain damage, no snapped neck, no tangible injuries to speak of. obvi though she is not ok) and we were all in much better spirits last night. it was then that my sister decided was the best time to tell me she is KU. i didn't get to ride that positive feeling for more than a couple of hours before i got knocked down to...well, is there something lower than the ground? *sigh* i feel like i've been run over by a bus a gazillion times and am left cowering in the corner, fearing it's coming back to run me over again at any second.
That is so awful, I'm so so sorry. I'm glad your sister is doing better...and I'm sorry your other sister has such awful timing.
You definitely need a hug...and several stiff drinks.

yeah, i agree. i feel like taking a bottle of wine to bed with me and not emerging for at least a week.
i'm really glad my sister is seemingly ok though. it was a lousy weekend, but i'm so grateful she's ok (mostly). i wish she would realize how much we all love her!
Wow, cch, I also saw your message on FB, I'm so sorry this weekend was a rough one. I hope you have a much better 2011, and you and your DH have lots of prayers and good baby vibes coming at you!
We've talked about TTC, possibly this coming spring. I'm finishing up my last pack of BCP this month, I have been on them 5 years and want to give myself a few months to regulate and be ready, and also lose some of this extra weight that crept up on me this year.
Also, with the photo biz going the way it's going, we figured next Feb/March would be a good time to try to aim for having a baby, so we'll start trying hopefully April-June. We'll see what happens! Having our kitty home at our in-laws this past week, I could only imagine having a little kiddo running around. I seriously look forward to it!

CCH - lots of T&P for you, I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. And hopefully 2011 will be yours and lilbits year for a baby.
As for us, DH wants a little one before he's 30, which gives us 4 years. I want to start TTC about a year after I've started my job out of grad school. If I'm lucky enough to get hired asap it'll be as soon as 2.5 years from now, but could be longer depending on jobs. We're also going to try to move closer to home once we start TTC, so that means selling a house also. Lots of stuff is going to have to happen before we bring a little one into this world. I'm also petrified that I'm going to have trouble TTC because I have a lot of health problems, and it just seems like something that would happen to me
