Since I am working from home

I've had an 8:30 meeting that lasted 5 minutes, a 9:30 meeting that lasted 5 minutes, I have an 11 AM which will be probably an hour (lame), a 12 that will be maybe 15 minutes, and then a 2 pm meeting.

But don't let that fool you.

I have brownies baking in the oven and cornbread muffins ready to pop in when the brownies are done. I may make double chocolate chip cookies in a bit. H is going to tell me I am out of control.

However, I kind of made the brownies preemptively.  Our neighbor, Vince, is a real nice older (70 maybe) gentleman. He has a snow blower--we don't. Sometimes he comes over and helps do the boulders that the plow trucks leave in the front of our driveway- and today- with 15" of snow since last night, they're kind of big. So, I kind of made brownies for him in case he helps...because I mean, the man is over twice our age and HE is helping us? KWIM? We should be helping him...but I'm not "allowed" to shovel right now (I am not complaining...) Otherwise, they'll go to work with J tomorrow.

And oh, the things that you're suddenly not allowed to help with....add that to the list of things I miss about being pregnant! (JK...sort of.)

  • I would like to be snowed in at your house today Stick out tongue

And here I actually have to work a full day today and tomorrow *gasp!*

Glad your office closed, it sounds like a lot of businesses were doing this? My cousin lives out there and I know hers did.

Yeah, a lot of offices closed...we just got hit all at once...like 0" of snow to 20" of snow within 18 hours. People in the city from what I know still have to go in, and a lot of other people I know also. J's office at the university he works at closed, also- but he doesn't have to work at all--besides shoveling... :-)  I do have to work...but it's not too busy right now.

Wow, that's some crazy snow! I always get a little jealous of you Northerners because we don't get snow days down here!

  • Sounds yummy! 22" here, and I'm still in PJs. Meanwhile, NJ has declared a state of emergency and my sis' boss might make her go in. E already had today off from work, so we're cleaning up after yesterday's guests. We've got leftover deep fried turkey, honeyed carrots, green beans, roasted potatoes and nut fingers for lunch. The deep fried stuffing balls are the only things that really wouldn't keep well overnight.
  • Sounds like a great snow day.

We got over a foot of snow, but it was hard to tell the exact amount because of the snow drifts.  I may have to do some baking.  A neighbor plowed us out this morning.

  • It is insane for me to think about that much snow!  I mean, I've seen skiing and I've seen snow a few times but that's almost 2 feet of snow...in one place.....not man made!

In the meantime, it's 43 here and will be up to 60 by Friday.  I'd rather it be colder because I haven't even had a chance to wear that beautiful burgundy pea coat Kate gave me last year more than once!
