Ham soup recs
I have a ham bone and a crapload of leftover ham, and I was thinking of either making split pea soup or some kind of bean soup with ham in it. Before I hit up allrecipes, does anybody have a soup recipe that they can vouch for?

i have a ham soup recipe that is mostly broth with homemade noodle things. i don't eat meat anymore, and never really cared for ham...but when i did eat meat and ate it, it wasnt bad.
Oh man, there are so many ugly babies to choose from. Mucho is probably the ugliest baby I've ever seen in my entire life. It burns the eyes to look at her. Then we have Andy the Demon Child and Bighead Maggie. Will and Evie are a pair of uglies, just like their parents. Seanicorn and Ryker just get uglier and uglier every day. And Miles! With that mop of hair! So, so ugly. Jack looks just like his momma, so obviously he is a hideous troll.
Ugh, I can't go on. There's just too much ugly and it's bringing me down. Ugly babies everywhere!

This is about the worst sales pitch I've ever heard.
I used to make this soup out of stuff I hated so much I stopped eating it altogther, but I only vomited twice while eating it, so you should try it.

I have made the split pea soup from the New Basics cookbook for years. I don't add the spinach or leek, and sometime I put potatoes in. It's really good.

Split pea is one way to go, but I'm all about bean soup with a ham bone. You could adapt the following recipe subbing out the hamhocks for a ham bone.
Saute up 2 slices of bacon (diced) with a diced medium yellow onion and 3 cloves of garlic. Add 6 cups of chicken stock, your ham bone, large can of diced tomatoes, white navy beans, couple bay leaves, some thyme, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for as long as you can stand it.

I like to submerge my own hand in a pot of boiling water for a couple of hours. It's tender and juicy and tastes just like ham
Did I mention I accidentally drank a heavy dose of Nyquil this morning instead of Dayquil? It's trippy, man
