Clarisonic Users

I got a Mia for Christmas (YAY) and I'm hoping it will help with the severe acne I've developed since going off BCP-I think I remember most of you saying you used a different cleanser, but I can't remember which.

Which do you use, and why don't you like the one that comes with it? Can you use any wash with it?

 TIA!

Re: Clarisonic Users

  • I use Origins Checks and Balances w/my Mia. It really helps with my skin and the breakouts (which sucks after getting of BCP). So far so good and I have really sensitive skin and I have had no reactions to it.

Oh goodie-somoone who knows about the post BCP acne! Thanks A! Hope you had a great Christmas!

  • I stuck with the same cleanser I used pre-Clarisonic, which is the liquid Neutrogena.  I've always had acne-prone skin but this wash seems to work well for me.  Doesn't overdry me and also takes off my makeup at the end of the day.  I'm all for less products!

Thanks! I've been using Clearasil Daily Face Wash since I was in junior high! I'd like to not spend a ton of money, but since my skin is so bad I might need to upgrade.

yah, it will get worse before it gets better.

I had a fabulous Christmas...especially hanging out with my niece...she is growing up so much.

How was your Christmas? How are you feeling these days???

  • I have no idea what a Mia is but I'm going to have to look into it so thanks for this :) I just went off BCP a few days ago and am very nervous about how my face is going to react.

Christmas was good-Hectic with lots of adults, kids and dogs all under one roof, but fun. Feeling fine-Finally got the OK to go back to the gym, much needed after all the crap I've been eating! I do have to put off TTC for a while which sucks, but more time to get back in shape. Still don't have a definitive diagnosis but it's one of 2 things, and of the 2 it's most likely one. So annoying it's not confirmed though. My Dad (a doctor) has some friends who are specialists in the field who want to review my case so I'm waiting on medical records. It's nice to have Dads in high places! I feel ok, but it sucked going through the holidays with no wine! Crying Thanks for asking!!

  • I use Neutrogena cleanser as well and it's always worked well for me.

I really like my Clarisonic, but I've been bad and haven't bought a new brush head yet. I do try and clean it on a weekly basis though.

I am sorry to hear you have to put off TTC but your health is important. I hope you do find a diagnosis and get the treatment you need to get 100%. Glad you can go back to the gym. Just take it easy!!!

  • The best, best, best acne facewash I've found is Obagi Clenziderm

It seems pricey, but it lasts for three months so cost per day is low and you'll need even less with your Mia.

I have this awful combo of post BCP acne with really sensitive skin and this is the best wash I've found.

Thanks P! I'll consider it after trying out the Mia for awhile. I definitely have some Christmas Money to spend though!

  • I received a Mia too! And have also wondered if I could use the same cleanser. (Which I like.)

And of course, when I used the Clarsonic cleanser for a few days, I broke out. >.<

  • Just wanted to throw out a "thanks" for this thread. I've been wanting to switch up my morning facial cleanser for a while (I was using Cetaphil).

DH got me a Nutra Sonic for Christmas. I've used it for the last three days, and can already notice a HUGE difference in my skin. It looks clearer and brighter (and some tiny blackheads I always have on my chin appear to be already decreasing), and my moisturizer is absorbing MUCH better than it ever has before (I was ready to throw it out and look for something else, which was a bummer since I researched it and really wanted to use this product, but now it works perfectly for me!).

  • I only used the Clarisonic cleanser a few times but did not care for it because my skin did not feel clean afterward. I am currently using Bare Escentuals liquid cleanser with my Clarisonic which worked great until I got PG and my hormones freaked out. The Clarisonic definitely helped clear up a lot of my post BCP breakouts, even though it took about two or three weeks of initial use for me to notice a difference.

Thanks Mel-I used it yesterday and it's what you said-It didn't feel clean. I might use up my Clearasil Daily Face Wash until it's out and then see how my skin is. If it doesn't seem to be helping I'll switch washes. I'm hoping this helps, because seriously-My skin is SO bad post-BCP!
