Re: Has anyone seen Black Swan?

  • My opinion:  two thumbs WAY down.  It was really disturbing.  I HAAAAAAATED it.  HAAAAAAAAAAAAAATED.  I think it is my all-time least favorite movie.  It is not what I was expecting at. all.  Ick.  *shudder*.  Yuck.  Blech.

DH and I both left the theater just feeling icky all-over.

And what was with the bouncy camera following her as she walked?  I almost got motion sickness.  Ick!

  • I thought the movie was just okay.  I didn't understand all the rave reviews that the movie received

I can understand the rave reviews for Natalie Portman.  What she did with the character was pretty amazing.  The shifts in character through the whole movie were pretty subtle but when you look back at the whole movie she was a completely different person by the end.  I would imagine that is really hard to do.

As a whole though I reallllllly did not like it.

  • I thought it was really good.  It was dark, but that is what I expect from a Darren Aronofsky movie.
  • Let's just say that I saw it with my parents.  That ups the yucky-ness factor by about 20 times.
Lots of love and continual explosions of babydust to my BG Besties! XOXOXOXO
