how was everyone's Christmas??

We had a nice, relaxing one!  It was nice.

Christmas Eve we just stayed at home.  I like going to the IL's, but they didn't do anything that day.  They stopped up for a few minutes while they were in town, but then went back to Tiffin.  I went to church with my parents and sister while DH stayed home with R who had just fallen asleep.  Taking a napless child to 4:00 Christmas Eve mass was NOT on my agenda for the day.  It was just easier to go without them.  (Plus, DH isn't a huge fan of Catholic Mass). We had a dinner of random appetizers and made our Birthday cake for Jesus.

Christmas was a bit more busy, but not too bad.  We woke up and opened our gifts here for each other and with R.  Then we went to my parents for breakfast and gifts with them and my sister and her FI.  We were home by noon for naps!  (Granted, I didn't take one...but should have)  We then went to my aunts around 6 for my mom's side of the family.

Sunday, I did some cleaning and R did a bunch of playing and DH did some work on the house!  We now have an overhead light in the hallway (which he needed to wire for, since there was nothing) and a new, programmable thermostat!  He even re-patched the wall so that hopefully he will do some painting this weekend when he has 4 days off again.  I REALLY need him to get Reece's new room done so that we can move him into it before the baby comes!

Re: how was everyone's Christmas??

  • Christmas eve I did some volunteering during the day, and then hustled around to finish personalizing SIL's gift and to wrap all the presents for that night.  At 4 we went to the ILs for dinner and gifts, then I met my family at church at 7.  After that, I picked up DH and we went to my parents.  Unfortunately, he was only there for about 10 minutes when he started feeling really sick and went home.  I stayed for a while, then went home too.  It was a rough night, b/c he was up every 45-1hour getting sick :( so neither of us got much of any sleep.

Christmas morning I went to my Grandma's for a short while, then ran to Walgreens for Gatorade and chicken soup and came back home to be with DH.  He spent 95% of the day sleeping, while I surfed through the crap that was on TV and tried to rest a little bit.

Yesterday DH was feeling somewhat better, so we went to my parents to exchange gifts. Then I did a couple things around the house, but we mostly just sat around again.

  • Merin-- Sorry about DH, that is how my DH was last Sun/Mon.  Dreadful.

It was just the 3 of us for the holiday.  I made an ok meal.  My roast didn't turn out as good as last time, but DH liked it.  I got things finished up on Friday and went to church with DS.  It was so nice b/c I hadn't been to a service in like 3 years.

Saturday was just gifts and breakfast and we spent the rest of the day lounging around.

I finished wrapping gifts for family that night and put them under the tree and on Sunday Alex thought it was Christmas all over again, lol.  I explained to him that those are gifts for others later this week.  My fatal flaw was using the "santa" paper on one of the gifts though...oops!

  • My parents and brothers ended up coming to our house for Christmas since we didn't know when I would go into labor and I needed my parents there really early Sunday morning anyways. It was a little chaotic since it was all last minute. My brothers' contribution to Christmas dinner was getting drunk, shooting a rabbit in my parents front yard with a BB gun, cooking it, then bringing it over. Tongue Tied Overall Christmas was pretty good and Jake was crazy about his new play kitchen.
  • Christmas Eve we made two batches of chili to take to R's family's Christmas (chili cook-off yum)... went to the party in the evening and had a ton of fun with presents for the kids and the adults played a version of Minute to Win It... too funny!

Christmas Day we were woken up at 5am by excited little people... played with toys until 10am, dropped the kids off at their other parents' houses, then R and I relaxed and refused to clean up the house haha.  We saw "The Fighter" (REALLY good) and ended up at Doc's for dinner afterward (thanks Merin!) which was super yummy.

Sunday we cleaned the house (what a big mess) and bummed around until we got hungry, ended up at PF Chang's to celebrate his birthday and our 'anniversary' for lunch... picked up the kids and played with toys again until bedtime!

  • Crazy!

We had Christmas Eve dinner at Mancy's with my mom, dad, brother and SIL and that was really nice!  Then, we went back to my parents' house in our jammies and played board games all night.  :)

Christmas Day, we started about 8:30 and went to five Christmases (one of them was nixed, thank God...)  We didn't get home until 12:30 and then H and I exchanged our gifts to each other (even though it wasn't technically still Christmas anymore, which kind of upset me).

Overall, it was definitely a great Christmas and we're so blessed to have been spoiled with gifts and lots of love from family and friends!  :)

  • VERRRRRRRY busy, but wonderful.  We have a 5-stop Christmas day and the whole weekend (24th-26th) is usually pretty busy for us in general.  We had a great time though with friends and family!

  • Christmas Eve and Christmas day were awesome for us.  We spent Christmas Eve with my soon to be nieces who are just so much fun to be around.  Then my family came over Christmas day and it was very relaxing.  However, pre Christmas Eve we had a family get together and that ended horribly.  My cousin started going off on me for something my brother did and we ended up in a huge argument.  It took me until Christmas Day to fully get over it and move on.  Ready for the new year!

  • Mine wasn't bad...had a four day weekend (we got the 23rd and 24th off from work in addition to the weekend):

Thursday, I did some running around - oil change, gym, nails done.

Friday, I ran to the mall with my brother to help him find something for Mom (we settled on a Pandora bracelet....I think I want one now).  Friday night over to DH's aunt and uncle's for Christmas Even dinner.

Saturday we opened presents we bought each other then over to MIL's for a late lunch with her and BIL who was in town from SoCal.  Then to other aunt and uncle's for some socializing and then home for the rest of the night.

Yesterday was just a day of reset.
