49er fans, WDYT re: Singletary fired?
I know it's not very surprising (at least not to me) about Mike Singletary getting the boot, but WDYT? Is it surprising to you? About time? Weird timing (one game left in the season)? Think Alex Smith should've gone first? 
Let it all out.

I have also seen it coming for a while but I am not happy about it. I think he is a good coach and good for our team. I believe 100% that all of our QBs should have gone before him. Both Smiths and Carr are no good and I think that has been proven this year, and the past few for Alex. A team can't do well if they don't have a good QB. Alex can throw but not run, Troy can run but not throw...SF needs a good QB to lead this team! Also it is weird timing, I think they should have done it in the off season.
But that's just my two cents
I think something needed to be done. I'm tired of all these years of mediocrity. Even if they made the playoffs, it wouldn't have been because they were good enough, it would have been because the rest of the conference sucks.
As much as I'm on the fence about Alex Smith, we need someone that's good enough where you don't have all these should he/shouldn't he discussions about him starting. If he's not good enough to be a for sure starter after all these seasons, it's time to move on.
Oh, and since you said let it all out - I couldn't stand that necklace Singletary wore every game. It just looked like a big chunk of wood around his neck!

I agree we need a new QB but we also need a new offense and especially a defense.
Also, it is management. They are too focused on this damn stadium coming to Santa Clara, that they can care less about the team.
The only good person (yet he is injured) is Nedney...actually I went to HS with him.
Bottom line-it is just not one person or one line, it is the entire team; from the kicker all the way to the owner. If they want to bring another championship home, they need to clean house ASAP or they will never bring one home again.
i will forever wonder WTH about keeping alex smith .... he's at best a decent back up.
it was a do or die season for singletary, doesn't shock me that they cut him loose. he'll make an EXCELLENT defensive coordinator somewhere.
