Re: New Years Resolutions

    1. Did you keep your resolutions from last year? 50/50 - I didn't run a marathon, but my second resolution was to read 25 books. So far I'm on book 43 for the year. Perhaps if I read less and ran more I could have made them both. Stick out tongue

    2. What are your resolutions for 2011? Pay off debt and really start saving. I should have accomplished this last year. I only have $1900 left after paying off $11,000 in 2010. My new car, a trip to Costa Rica and Invisalign all gummed up the works (but were all worth it) and prevented me from paying it all off. My plan is to have everything paid off my February and then save save save.

New Years Resolution 2 is to loose the baby weight plus a tiny bit more. My plan so far is going on Jenny Craig once the baby is here. Portion control is my hardest battle, so going on JC for 3 months should kick start everything for me and allow me to get back into running.

Oh yeah..... have a healthy baby and all that jazz

  • I didn't make any resolutions last year.

The only one I have right now is to have a healthy baby & to lost the baby weight and be back to my pre pg size.

  • I made a resolution years ago to never make any more resolutions. I've stuck to it ever since. ;-)
  • I didn't make any resolutions last year because I did my 101 in 1001 list. I need to refocus on that list and really get going on it.

I have five resolutions for the new year:

    1. Pay off debt - and be serious about it.

    2. Try to get pregnant again.

    3. Read 30 books.

    4. Run the Remember the Ten 5K in April.

    5. Lose 15 pounds.

The rest of the year, I'll focus on the list, providing the best environment for our growing little boy, and moving to Colorado. Oh, and getting through our first deployment.

  • (After writing this I realized it sounded snobby but decided not to change it because of all traits I have, laziness shines through the most.)

I have never made New Years Resolutions because I think it's silly to hold out change until one time of the year. I usually make resolutions all year round. This year my resolution time happens to fall at New Years.

These are all vague resolutions that have separate strategies, but I won't bore you with those:

    Personal:

Stay within a ~10 lb weight range (that I am at the top of right now).

    Home:

Keep the house in livable conditions (it won't always be spotless but it can't continue to be a war zone).

    Work:

Be on time (to start the day, to meetings, and with deadlines).

  • 1. I'm pretty sure I didn't make any last year.... or at least I have no idea what it was if I did! 2. I haven't even thought about it yet, but probably just to get back to my pre-pregnancy size.

  • I don't generally make resolutions, but I can say a few goals for the year will be get back into shape and run a 5K - luckily these will go hand in hand, making it easier to reach both goals!

  • 1. I didn't make any last year.

    2. I was inspired to start a 101 in 1001 list over the summer, so I really want to continue with that. I've accomplished a lot of things on my list, but I need to get in the habit of keeping it updated.

    Become more financially organized

    Read 25 books

    start working out

Continue paying off debt and start saving more!!

  • 1. Yes! My resolutions were:1) to lose 33 lbs of my 43 lbs of baby weight, and I've lost 38 so far! and get down to a size 4/6 (I was a 2 before), which happened just in the last month or so. 2) to be better about budgeting, which we were a little better about it the first part of the year, then after I lost my job, we've gotten much more strict, since we don't have money to spend anymore...

    2. I haven't thought of any resolutions for 2011 yet.

  • I don't think I made any for 2010.  Obviously if I did, I didn't do them because I can't remember them, LOL.

    I have a couple for 2011.

    1. Get pregnant (I have a dr. appt Jan.3 and a request to schedule a consultation with a RE)

    2. create a budget to pay off debt and save (we are starting the Dave Ramsey program in January at our church)

    3.  Become organized at home.  I'm OCD everywhere else in my life...why not home?

    4. GRADUATE!!!!!!!!

    5. Become a Scentsy Director or above.  I'm 2 levels away but really need to build my team for this to happen.

    6. DH and I made one together.  TO be healthy!  For me it's weight loss but it comes down to what we eat which is funny considering my DH's profession and the store he just opened. Let me just tell you though, that no matter what business you are in, when you come home...it's different!  So, we made goals together for this.  Every Sunday, we will grocery shop and cook meals for the entire week to keep us from eating out. There is more but this is long now, ha!

  • Last year was to finish school

This year to get pregnant, save some money and get a real job.

  • 1. Did you keep your resolutions from last year? We sort of kept our budget goal and we're in a much better place financially than last year. I don't think we're eating any healthier and I definitely haven't lost weight!

    2. What are your resolutions for 2011? I don't think I'm going to make a resolution this year. We're just going to keep focusing on living within our means, paying down debt, and hopefully having a healthy baby!

  • my resolution last year was to be on time to work. it didn't happen, not one day. maybe in 2011?? lol

  • um, not getting out of bed/oversleeping. i still work my hours (usually more). and actually my boss did say something just recently, asking both of us to be sure the office is open by 8:30. i told her it's completely my fault, and i'll fix it. (i'm supposed to start at 8:00! my coworker at 8:30). so i've definitely been in by 8:30... but never by 8:00. i don't know what my problem is... well, i certainly don't sleep well AT ALL anymore, but i had this problem pre-pregnancy, it's just worse now. Embarrassed

I think I was late every day that I was pregnant, even with DH helping me get up in the mornings (which I asked him to do since he has an easier time waking up than me). I was usually late, but not always, before I got pregnant. Once Nate was born, I was always always on time, and sometimes early (crazy!), but I still had to have a lot of help from DH in the mornings. He started singing a song to me if I didn't get up on time. It goes, "Get your booty uuuuup! Get your booty uuuuup!"

    1. Did you keep your resolutions from last year?

I don't remember most of them. The only one I remember was to read at least a book a month. I've read or listened to something like 30 books this year, so I know I nailed that one. LOL

    2. What are your resolutions for 2011?

Continue to read/listen to at least two books a month.

    Sew more garments

    Learn to machine quilt

    Take an intermediate/advanced quilting class

    Eat better/exercise more often

Find a good, full time permanent position

Move from the life-draining house of hell into something more manageable

Spend more time with extended family

Get out and shoot more photographs.

Most of mine relate to my free time because I've spent the last three years sitting in front of a computer playing a video game instead of pursuing the other (more constructive) past times I enjoy ...

  • 1.  To get pregnant.  Didn't happen.

    2. To get pregnant or be in the adoption process.
